It's a very nice looking game, with some of the best graphics I've seen, but to those not familiar with it, the missions and gameplay is structured in more of an arcade fashion rather than a simulator. That's not a criticism, just informational so people know what to expect. It was developed using the flight models from IL2, from what I understand. There's a version for consoles, at least the Xbox, called Birds of Prey. It doesn't have as many features as the PC version, and of course doesn't support all the different controllers the PC version does, but it looks very similar. I don't thi

Another vote for the CO2 tank - totally silent, and about the same price of a compressor. Lasts a long time and only a few dollars to refill.

2010 - A photographic review of my year

Amazing shots - I'm jealous, and as someone who tries to photograph airplanes, that's the highest compliment I can think of -
Good luck MIkester! I've never been in the Navy, but live in San Diego and have been to Yokosuka twice, and I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

Like others have said, his death was tragic and also resulted in the loss of an artist and his work, but I think there are so many people at least as deserving of recognition that never get it, so I find it hard to put any additional weight behind his death. There are people - soldiers, policemen, firefighters, etc. - who put their lives on the line daily, and all too often give their lives, all in the actual duty of protecting people, not simply writing songs or speaking out about something. I think those people are much more deserving of a vigil than a musician. They put their words into

Great pictures, Moose, thanks for posting them.

Is it only in additional tabs and not in the start-up window (i.e., you can get to a web page when first starting the browser, but subsequent tabs are blank)? If you can get to the Internet at all, as at least a work-around you might try downloading another browser, like Firefox, and seeing if that works properly. http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/products/down...〈=en-US

Nice shots, especially the ones with lower light. And Fifi in flight - I'm jealous! Thanks for the pics!

Sounds kind of like Picard's ready-room wall :) -
Good stuff! It's always nice to see a Phantom - that Phantom/Moon shot is great!

Nice shots, and looking forward to the rest when you get a chance to post them. I decided not to make the trip this year, so I will live it vicariously through your photos I saw someone post on another site that he wasn't allowed into the base with a lens longer than 300mm - did you hear anything about that?

150 plane flyover planned for navy Centenial

San Diego probably gets into the mid- to upper-60s in the day, and into the mid 40s at night on average in Feb. It's a rainier period than other times, but we never get enough rain, so even at that it's probably not going to be overcast that much. -
FYI, the Galactica kits are shipping and Starship Modeler has them available: http://www.starshipmodeler.biz/shop/index....ica---bsg75.cfm

Great pics, all! I saw the Canadian Skyhawks parachute team at El Centro a few years ago, and they're very impressive. I really like the Tora Tora Tora shots, as well as the C-130 drop shots.

I think Ft Wayne, IN 122FW ANG recently transitioned to A-10s, and here are some shots of their paint jobs from someone who maintains them: http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topi...tml#Post3135348

O/T Help with a computer problem

Two thoughts. First, if you have a webmail account, like gmail or hotmail or something, you could forward it there and it would probably work. If you don't have an account, you can create one for free. Second, if you right-click the link, you might get more options. One may be to open it, another might be to copy the link, in which case you could paste it into a browser. Oh, and one other thing to try. Depending on your version of Outlook, you might be able to open it by holding the control key (CTRL) down while clicking on it. -
Really impressive work, Tony. And as has been said, it's nice to see a different take on a common kit.

Oh good Lord, you don't even know if other built-in tools that work very much the same as the Mac versions were even tried. I'll bet you probably have never worked with a Mac that had two partitions with OSX installed on both of them, in which case you would have no idea how easily this is managed on a Mac. HomagerMan, I'm not sure if I understand everything you've done, but did you try the disk manager in the Windows 7 partition you want to keep? If not, just boot to that partition, right-click on the Computer icon on the desktop and choose Manage, then click the Disk Manager under Stora

If you decide to go the 1946 route, gog.com has a download version of it for $10.00, in case that's a better deal than you've found. http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/il_2_sturmovik_1946

My first time seeing a Typhoon in person (not flying, unfortunately)

Great shots, Alfonse! I'll post a few of mine in a different thread.

I'll be there on Saturday.

Here's mine. It was taken at El Centro last April.

It's hard for me to imagine it being fun to watch because the whole time I'd just be thinking it's something Jeremy Clarkson would be mocking if he were watching it.
