  1. Thanks for the time on this, I do plan to correct what I can on the Nitto 707/E-3 (have two here Majortomski-thanks) so it is more like a KC-135 (the markings I consider more of a challenge) and in fact, I should consider the timeline of the engines that come with the Nitto kit on that one. Same for the KC-10 project, obviously something more modern within modern! And i do know I need to give attention to the wing root/ fillets and extend the wing length, etc. If I pull off corrections in 1/100 that will make three sets of refuellers (KC-135/KC-10 style) in 1/144, 1/100, and 1/72 Wh
  2. PHEW! That was real Close! :unsure:/>/> Almost missed Ebay deal closing on this one. I knew I had one of the Early Hase. Strike Eagles I asked about buried deep in the stash, so I dug deep, and opened her up to find that; IT IS THE NEW TOOL! :woo:/>/> I got back on Ebay in time to close the deal and got it for $9.99!! :yahoo:/>/> Sooo, if you see this box for a deal, grab it! :wave:/>/> :banana:/> http://www.ebay.com/itm/311013687708?_trksid=p2059210.m2748.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Also learned that I need to organize the stash
  3. Appreciate your step - by - step posts here, as I have a healthy stack (including BB cpits, CE intakes, Scaledown Wheelwells/exhausts) of these to do, and really helps to see what is involved in getting it all together!
  4. Tailspin Turtles reply link above goes into the ordinance details pretty well.
  5. Not sure you care to go very far into corrections, but it was pointed out to me that the Monogram kit has the ball turret misplaced. Then if you do a Ploesti raider, the ball would've been removed, and the hole faired over. And you would replace the Norden sight with a low altitude sight like from the AMT A-20.
  6. Sounds like you already have the toilet, but figured i'd mention that I have some which include the bomb tail, and are cast in white resin - if interested.
  7. Yes, all can be good snapshots in time with the other scales, 1/100 being the most challenging. The Thud certainly a deserving build, laden with weapons too!
  8. He was always very supportive of the troops through the years as well. Kept them in comedy induced stitches! You know those were great stage runs as he was always quick and constant. Such a unique style. shocked today…
  9. There you go, great to do in 1/72 too. Was thinking of several fighters waiting their turn. All from the same unit. The Strike eagle looks clean enough.
  10. Any fighter that would hook up to either tanker. I do have one Takara A-10. I remember the F-4, had the Revell boxing with the late 70's euro markings long ago. I think the intakes were too square shaped, not sure what else.
  11. I have a razor saw, extra plastic, Dremel, RTV, resin, references, etc. Worked both heavies in my career, thanks for pointing out issues. Regardless, still like to know which little ones are the least troublesome? Thanks
  12. Not so concerned with landing gear/cockpit as it will be in flight mode refueling from either KC-135/KC-10. Thanks.
  13. I use mineral spirit, it isn't a hot thinner. I use my Lacquer for hotter paints like Floquil and to clean up. Sure hope it isn't that 8 yr. old paint is too old, I have most every color in the MM line, including metalizer!
  14. Looked for an open box or review to no avail. and I cannot remember; I think it is (?) Thanks!
  15. How about instead of dipping the EZ line in SG, apply a dab to the WNW kit where the EZ line goes, then place and hold the EZ to the dab?
  16. I have gone to the Revell website, but see no announcement, where is the announcement? Thanks!
  17. Okay, will refine where needed, mount lug, etc. Getting crazy busy here! THANKS
  18. I learned the high speed tank in the 1/32 Tamiya F-15 is too small and a better replacement is from the Revell F-4E Mig Killer kit. I am asking what improvements should be made to the Revell kit tank if any? Thanks!
  19. Got the C-141 stretch to do as it comes in the box - McChord AFB where I retired. The clear (as it sounds like w. C-17) is botched, but not a worry as I will make my own correction when the time comes. Also have the KC-10 to do as a Travis bird. Read where it needs fixing at the wing to body fairings, landing gear, etc. I don't think the kit looks so bad, will require some skill to overcome the issues. But too cool for me to pass on. I am considering tight gear door matching and telescoping boom so I can opt for gear up/gear down set up. I think you can search some great builds here on AR
  20. Nice! Good work there, like the sequence. Thanks for posting!
  21. Scott Wilson came through with a shot that helps. Not all comprehensive, but should get me there. Thanks Scott!
  22. Thank you for the assistance, it helps a bit for the LH side as it gives a different angle for box location and wire bundle orientation. Seems this is one of those areas that doesn't get photographed. Sure wish I had done so when I was able. Sure we all know how that is! Anyone ever take the opportunity?
