Thanks Ken, ... it's in the current December issue (http://ch-de.zinio.com/reader.jsp?o=int&offer=500352857&pub=500598831&prev=sub) But like I said, there's an error regarding one base and one regiment is wrong since there was a lot of confusion when I prepared that report. Regarding the cockpit photos ... You need one of the Chinese "B" !? try this one http://cnair.top81.cn/fighter/J-11B_cockpit1.jpg ... and IMO it really looks more black than in a Russian bird !? Cheers, Deino

They are de facto licensed copies !

Thanks for posting !!! Could You add just some close ups of the wings, fuselage and other parts in regard to the panel-lines !?? Besides that ... ... like I said in the other tread the aircraft shown for the decals (no. 10320) is a bird from the 1. Fighter Division / 1. Air Regiment based at Anshan, which is actually a Lot 00 (2008) aircraft not powered by the WS-10A, but by the regular AL-31F. If You want to build a TH-powered J-11B late production model, then You need to build one from the following units: Lot 01 (2010) - 30. Fighter Division / 89. Regiment at Datong-Pulandian - 40x1x-

Simply amazing !! Here a photo (You surely know it) of a similar bird ... Deino

Ohhh YES ... and hopefully a later Cheetah + radar ... and even more a Kfir !
-
Not really ... only some minor lumps & bumps (like RWR, MAW, ...), the mentioned wing-tip pylons and the WS-10A for the later J-11B as well as a new cockpit. But be careful: The aircraft shown for the decals (no. 10320) is a bird from the 1. Fighter Division / 1. Air Regiment based at Anshan, which is actually a Lot 00 (2008) aircraft not powered by the WS-10A, but by the regular AL-31F. Hi ... Just a short question ... I know that the original quite ambitious F-15J-Kai update project has been cut considerably (no operational IRST, downdraded (?) EW(ECM-suite, ...) but is there any open info avaiblable about what was left in that upgrade, how many were converted or planned to be ... ?? Thanks in advance, Deino
-
Yes the Chinese updated J-11B have these typical "stripes" along the radome ... http://www.airliners.net/photo/China---Air/Shenyang-J-11B/1980981/L/&sid=fe6442493a820f5713dc21f2c17f68c9 Deino

Just noticed !! THANKs ... and even if the panels seem to be a bit soft IMO they look very nice ! Now it's up to "Flankerman" to tell us what he thinks. Deino

Hmmm ... at first sight YES ... but I agree with You in regard to the wheelbays. Otherwise aren't they are the same as on the 32-scale kit ?!!
-
Then You might like this book !! http://www.harpia-publishing.com/index-FlyingDragon.html#/0 Deino

... but they simply missed to downsize it to the correct scale (1/72) !!!!! Deino

Any news on that kit from the Tokio modelling show ?? Deino

Hasegawa 1:48 f-15J MSIP configured II (with IRST) limited edition
Deino replied to Jeff's topic in Jet Modeling
Hmmm ... actually I'm not sure if it was only a mock up - even if I have only those pictures at hand as posted above - but IMO it could be a system with a "stored" modus of a moveable IRST-ball, which is turned backwards when not in use. http://www.aereo.jor.br/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/F-15J-ASDF-FLIR-4.jpg Deino  -
Fine ... but so far no new or additional photos of the standard J-11B ?!!
-
Huhu ... nothing new ?? ... but anyway even if only an earlier J-11A (with AL-31F) this is still a nice one ! http://www.airliners.net/photo/China---Air/Shenyang-J-11B/1980981/L/&sid=fe6442493a820f5713dc21f2c17f68c9 Deino

Just found at http://www.hlj.com/product/FUJ72235 ... and if they can hold the quality for their latest F-22 & F-35 (but not for the weapons ), then we maybe finally get a decent "mudhen" in the "right scale". Deino

Any news ... a preview or anything !!!???? PLEASE !
-
So again we have to wait until Hasegawa will realease a correct kit in 2035 (since the kit from Trumpeter which will be released a few years earlier will surely have a wrong canopy too) !?
-
I have just to agree ... Trumpeter surely made a nice kit and even if the panel-lines look fine and "realistic" esp. those on top are (at least IMO) pure guesswork. I actually can't think that Trumpeter got access to the real thing and one hint for that is the missing speed-brake behind the cockpit. Deino

Any more news on sprues, parts, decals or even a finished model ?? Can't wait, Deino
-
Actually a brilliant book .... !!!
-
At least I hope so ... and I won't mind if they continue with a Su-27UB, Su-30MKK, Su-30MKI, Su-34 .... !

Here's a USMC one + AMRAAM ! Actually I'm very much surprised after I've seen this photo linked at the Key-Forum (THANKs Peter-G) showing an USMC AV-8B with two AMRAAMs. Deino
