Anyone Have Instructions for KMC T-33 Update Set
Drifterdon replied to Drifterdon's topic in Jet Modeling
Awesome, thanks. -
What would be the chance of a third sheet? Would love to see some of the Arctic T-Birds like from the 57 FIS out of Keflavik Iceland or the 21 TFS/5021 out of Elmendorf AK or another from a Guard base like the 120 FIS with the Montana ANG. Don

I picked up the etched brass part of the KMC 1/48 Update set for the T-33 but it is only the brass. No instructions. Hoping someone has this and can provide a scan. Thanks.

I'm in with the hopes of actually finishing something. Plan on doing the Monogram 1/72 SA-16 Albatross. Was planning on doing the SAC markings from the SuperScale 72-184 sheet but not 100% certain now. Have seen some Albatross's that were ADC grey. Don

I'm getting ready to start on Hobby Craft/Academy's /48 T-33 T-Bird with 57 FIS markings (ADC grey w/Arctic red nose, tail, and tip tanks). From reviewing on-line photos, I see that the inside of the landing flaps and inner gear doors (center) are red. What I don't know is what color the inner wing area above the flap was and what color the gear wells, speed brakes and wells, and gear doors on landing legs were. The bird that I am wanting to do has silver struts and wheel hubs but I'm not sure of the rest. What color were the cockpits at this time? And one final question, any ideas if

Everything has been sold. Thanks to all that have helped me with this first step in clearing out the hobby room. Don

It's a decent kit but the cowling shape is totally wrong. There were a couple aftermarket resin cowlings that you could buy to fix. Other than that, you have the old Hawk/Testors kit which is really rudimentary or the Hobby Boss kit which I've heard also has it's share of problems, namely wing and cowling shape.

Very nice build Geoff. I hope mine turns out half as good as yours did. Don

That is a superb build sir! I've pulled my T-33 to the top of the heap. Very inspiring. :salute:/>

Nice job Darren. The Skyray was always a pleasing design.

Thanks for the note Ikar. I may have to find someone who can make these for me. My only question is whether the badge would have been reversed on the starboard side so the eagle is facing forward. Don

Jeff came through with some pieces parts I was after. Great comms and a great guy. Thanks Jeff. :salute:/> Don

My New Years Revolution is to finish something this year. I'm in with a Monogram HU-16 Albatross with SAC markings. I don't think SAC used them to drop Nukes. :D/> Just ditched Nukers....

If I recall, the engines that come with the Heller/Airifx E-3 kit are not correct for a standard TF-33 equipped E-3. At least the ones in my kit weren't. They are the JT3D's found on the later 707's. Pretty much the same engines that came in the original Heller Intercontinental 707 kit. But you are correct Electro, the engines on an E-3 are all together different looking. :salute:/>

Pull the stabs from the E-3 kit.

Go for it! You'll need to update the pylons to match those of the KC-135. I'm using the Heller TF-33's on my RC-135E since the ones that come in the RC-135 kit are too small and the turbine faces stink. Also, make sure you configure the turbo compressors on the engines for the particular bird you are doing. I'm sure Jennings will chime in soon. He's the 135 Guru on these boards. Don

Does anyone know if there is a decal sheet that has the 178 FIS, North Dakota ANG badge? A picture of it is in this link from Wikimedia. http://commons.wikim...-ADC-ND-ANG.png I would like to build 49-2533 when it was assigned to the NDak ANG. Link to this bird is in the link to million monkey theater. http://www.millionmo...ics/49-2533.jpg Also, Am I seeing correctly, de-icer boots on the wings and horizontal tail surfaces similar to the F-94C? Any help greatly appreciated. Don Also meant to ask if the squadron badge would have been reversed on the starboard side so the eagle was

Very Nice build! I don't recall the flaps being dropped. Did you cut and lower? Also love how you faded the stars on top of the wings. Don
