  1. Looks good! I used to watch the like painted Kiowas buzzing around Portage in '74 when I was in Musketeer servicing. Got my first helo flight on 208 that year and learned about the extreme sensitivity of Kiowa controls!!!
  2. ....and by Spain which is probably how mine will end up! The Iraqi chopper has a tent shaped sand filter and the kit one is a bit rough! More birds enter the flock - the Academy AH-64D British Army. Excellent kit with some Eduard etch. The first thing I did was a 'collectivectmy' because Academy chose to mold the collectives as part of the cockpit sidewall and I am not happy with this!! Pic to show successful surgery on the rear cockpit and yet to happen on the front! Collective was saved and cleaned up to return to duty!!! The next bird into the 'Flock' is t
  3. ...with the MBB Bo-105, 3 types, well 2 actually - 2 of one & one of the other!? Got 2 Bo-105CBSs, these are the extended fuse birds mostly used for Medevac work, although in my case one will be Medevac & the other a Police Chopper! The third one is a Bo-105GSH, a version I had not known about until the kit arrived on the market! It is the standard length '105' but with a big gun slung under the belly, I'm guessing as a tank killer. I checked my 2 GSH kits in the stash and found one which wasn't started so it has joined the build. I found the AModel 105s easier to assemb
  4. OK, getting the X-Acto warmed up!! Will probably start with 2 at least MBB Bo-105CBSs, one Police & one Medevac. While the paint is drying on these I could be gluing/painting one of my Academy AH-64Ds and I want to add this to these birds!!! http://www.master-model.pl/product/am-72-109.html Good times!!!
  5. CPR = Canadian Pacific Railway Kidding - did my First Aid re-re-re-re-cert (could be more lost track of the number of times in the military) last year got high 90s. So the guys in our club are safe!?!?
  6. Yes been there done that! But tried at a Rexall and although the big signs said "Any day; any time" when the chap in front of me in line asked for his flu shot he was told to come back tomorrow. Mind you this was the same store that couldn't figure out my Gov't insurance forms, sent me to a website where I could buy a gross!?!?!?!? Now I use a small family run pharmacy that has given me super service & now flu shots!!!! Re the doctor situation, you're just a young pup, us old folks really gotta be worried!!
  7. My doc is quite good, only waited once about 45 mins because of an emergency that happened in clinic. Otherwise the norm that AX365 has, also same problem re retirement; got a letter about scaling back hours, no biggie, also retired so I can live with that. No word or timetable for the doc about actually hanging up the scalpel, so waiting for that boot to drop! Now hospitals on the other hand!?!? Several years back now went to the urgent care clinic on the advice of a tele-health nurse. She said she couldn't give a definitive diagnosis but from what I described I had a blood clot some whe
  8. Inquiring minds want to know who the 1.64% is who do not want to build a 'whirly bird'???? Then we can strap this 'percentage' into a Sea King doing the automated descent to a 40 foot hover!?!?!!! A quick way to loosen and remove fillings.
  9. Go to the helo walkarounds and visit Sea King part 2, a pic is worth a thousand words?
  10. Nice pic, just noticed that the Greeks appear to have the same RW set as the Brits!?!! Evidenced by the whitish dot and black lumpy things at the front of the cheek sponson!! I just got the Academy (72nd) British -64D and found that it has all the required bits to make the current version!! Good thing I didn't steam ahead with a Greek bird using the US -64D! 18 days to go lads, better sweep all the jets & prop jobs off the bench - It's chopper time!!!
  11. Eggcellent, said he tenting his fingers..... Don't know which kit to build so gonna try shotgun approach, although leaning towards a Canadian 'Nook from the 'Stan, the ones we bought/borrowed from the US. Also have a bunch of the fabulous SH Cobra kits so will throw a few of these into the mix. Time to start the search for detail bits!!
  12. Just checked the GB calendar and in upcoming GBs we are listed as 01 Jan to 01 Jul!!!! Woohoo!!
  13. If the HUD tape box survived it could be used to assist in the determination. Had a case when I was there and we got the HUD tape and mounted a player in our Twin and my boss followed it right to the crash point!! Aviation is a very unforgiving mistress!! RIP
  14. I could be easily tricked into building a chopper!!?
  15. There are lots more to put into the 'right' scale but this is great - 'Save the Whales!!'
  16. Your welcome, nice artwork. Now all we need is a 'Keep Calm & build Airphix Phantoms!!' poster.
  17. I thought I phelt a disturbance in the Phorce overnight!! I wonder if continually asking Airphix; "Is it ready yet??" will get it done sooner??
  18. I have a red Maple leaf pin with one of those push clips on the back and I put it on top of the black center, stays in place nicely. I usually drop coins in the boxes when I pass whether I have a Poppy on or not, I'm not going to go broke from that, this province's gov't is a different story!! I have been toying with the idea of making a Maple Leaf out of plastic and painting it black then glueing it to one of those pins on the push clips and see how that works?! We must Never Forget!
  19. I ordered mine from Hobby Easy (HK) they were listed at $15 Can, so I got 3 to start with!??!! They are now $15.49 Can, always got super service and reasonable shipping from this store to Canada!!
  20. Eggcellent Now I am going to take a WAG that there will be a couple more schemes on the 72nd sheet? Are you willing to give us some hints? Thanks
  21. I'll be sure to let you know when the 3 I pre-ordered hit my door steps!!! The price is fantastic!!!!
  22. Went, won some raffle prizes, got a couple of Ajax 'dingles' (a second & third) and had a great time!!!! Kudos to the guys who run the show it was as usual a super day!!! There were 590 entrants who plopped 690 models onto the tables!! Looking forward to next year.
