Moving right along the production line! Won't be long now. Great work Steve!

I was toying with the idea of building one particular aircraft in multiple scales. It would have to be an aircraft produced in multiple scales [1:24, 1:32, 1:48, 1:72, 1:100 or 1:144] with the same markings also available in decals in these scales. I remember seeing such a display of P-51 Mustangs in a Kalmbach modeling book. For example, I might choose the AV-8A Harrier in VMA-231 (Ace of Spades) markings. 1:24 MPC 1:32 Revell 1:48 Monogram 1:72 Airfix (new) or ESCI 1:100 Takara / Revell 1:144 Mark I or Crown & possibly 1:350

Chris, sorry, no. I too have been wanting to build multiple special mission Herks in 1/144 and the best that I can find are the IFR pods for the USAF HC-130H/N/P and USMC KC-130F/R/T. You would still have to scratch build the AN/ARD-117 radome. I am waiting for the GWH Herk to be released to see what options are available.

Neato torpedo! Thank you habu2 for this link. I imagine that the vertical stabilizer support braces were a static display add-on by the museum?

Overall, I am very impressed with this kit. The molding is not as sharp as the MAI resin, but overall assembly should be easier. The clear parts are very clear and include masks. I am not sure that the side mounted bench seats are correct, at least for the UC-12B. When I flew aboard her, she had 8 individual seats, four arranged in single file along each side of the fuselage, roughly opposite each other with a very narrow aisle between them. The two forward seats along the forward bulkhead were facing backward while the remaining seats faced forward. There was a Coleman cooler with ice and

And the remaining parts. Sprue D with undercarriage and various engine parts (plus unused four blade props & spinners), Sprue F with various antennae and cockpit parts, and lastly Sprue H with correct 3 blade props , strakes and engine exhausts.

The engine, tail and cabin sprues (C & P).

Now the sprue shots. First the wings (A), then fuselage (B) inside and out and clear parts (M).

Here are the contents in the box and decal and masks / PE shots. (Hmm, not sure why my photos are loading upside down.)

Here are shots of the instruction sheet, 8 pages, A4 size. The first page and a half include parts trees, decal sheet overview and color callouts. Four and a half pages of assembly instructions followed by two color pages of painting and decal placement, one each for TC-12B & UC-12B. The exact markings for UC-12B 161505 coded 5D of MCAS New River that I was looking for.

I recently backordered the newly released A&A Models #7240 1/72 Beechcraft TC/UC-12B Huron kit. This is a rebox of their Beechcraft Super King Air 200 kit with the addition of Sprue H (including three blade props) and decals for USN TC-12B of VT-35 "Stingrays" circa 2008 and USMC UC-12B of MCAS New River, NC circa 1984.

I think that Kursad is still working on a 1/72 C-47 sheet which may well include the yellow UNITED STATES AIR FORCE and USAF markings you require. Look here.

Not surprising, considering that USAF has a big wing ISR shortage for the next several years. Send me a pm with your mailing address. 😉 k/r, Dutch

Amazing work, that!

Jost, I have one question. Is Boeing paying you to keep the production line open? 🤪
-
Jost, It is always a pleasure to watch your production line! Kind regards, Dutch

Yeah. I'm more of the Larry the Cable Guy builder, "Get 'er done!" Great work, Fred. K/r, Dutch

@KursadA, When do you expect to release the F-104 Basics sheet? I suggest making twice as many as you think necessary in both 1/48 & 1/72 scales as I will need several in each scale. I think others will also. Kind regards, Dutch
-
@JeffreyK Jeffrey, will you just make 1/48 scale NF-104A conversions, or 1/72 scale also? Kind regards, Dutch

Ditto!

When Hurricane Idalia flooded my house and garage (i.e. model storage area) I focused on repairing the home first. I figured that the models are not going anywhere. Well we moved back into the house on 30 Dec, 4 months to the day of the flood. Now I am dealing with the models. I have written off several 1/48 & 1/72 models, but the water wicked up to a box on the second row where I had some newly acquired 1/144 aircraft kits, including several Mark I & Revell Hawker Hunter kits. The good news is that I was able to wash the kit parts and salvage the instructions, but the decals and boxes
