  1. Yeah that's what I meant with lots of work :( I'm looking at a rescribe and a lot of reshaping, and probably vacuforming my own canopy. Nothing really intimidating technically, but the amount of work is giving me pause... and it looks to be what you'd get with the 48 one as well, in 32nd the size is easier to work with at least. I just wish Eduard would do an F and UM. I guess, since they deemed the bis nose not worth it, that they feel they've done "enough" with 21s and have moved on to other subjects completely. Trumpeter have historically not had any issue with directly stealing the work
  2. A very interesting can of worms though, even if I'm mostly interested in the 32nd offering of the MF. Love or hate Trumpeter, sometimes they do get it right and they do kits other manufacturers wouldn't dream touching, in my beloved 32nd scale to boot. I keep thinking about doing this unbelievably awesome MF in 32nd http://miprofiles.i.m.f.unblog.fr/files/2015/10/mig-21-mf-8208.jpg but sooo much work phew
  3. The MF does seem to be different in 48 from the 32nd yeah... hmmm is it just me, or does it looks worse? Isn't it the newer of the two?
  4. Downscales of the 32nd ones with the same errors. I assume Trumpys offerings are much cheaper for actual Chinese who don't pay the ridiculous markups. F-13 errors n' stuff http://www.arcforums.com/forums/air/index.php?showtopic=257354&st=60&p=2464756&hl=f-13&fromsearch=1entry2464756
  5. Hm yes it seems L is the right one to grab. Nice build Laurent. It does seem a bit worse in the build quality department than I initially suspected, but I'll get some fixes for free since it's going to be that monument, like plugging the engines missing nozzles with that structure. Thanks for the help fellas!
  6. Maybe someone well versed in this subject can help me :) Which Amodel kit would be best suited to replicate this awesome monument? http://www.airliners.net/photo/Russia---Air/Yakovlev-Yak-28/1117269/L/ I'm going to buy the Modelsvit Tu-22 and figured I'd get the Amodel Yak-28 at the same time, the store offers the IM, L and PP versions.
  7. Bay of Pigs Seafury according to the Topic Description (not the Topic Title). Should probably have that field removed actually, only ever see it used in the wrong way
  8. Same as on their 32nd 23s, see here http://www.zactomodels.com/html/MiG-23/MiG-23%20Intake%20Improvements.htm
  9. I only use Vallejo primers if I have like a week of drying time to spare, or it just won't be sandable nor will it stick very well. It's cheap and easy to spray with good coverage though, so I use it now and again... actually more as a color sometimes, than a primer. I prefer Mr Surfacer and Mr Finisher for pretty much everything. Did the primer peel, or the paint below the primer?
  10. Aha, I sent three mails a week ago, I'll resend them and also chuck them into a PM here on ARC
  11. Sorry! I had completely missed these replies, I thought I had email notification on, but apparently not! The kit build stalled waiting for parts coupled with distractions getting in the way. I've since gotten hold of the laser cannon fittings that were missing, and am working on the last missing part. I've started constructing the wings, I'll get to photos of that this weekend hopefully! The armature is part of the wings and those sections will get painted with the rest, the armature visible inside the cockpit ball however, will be left bare. It has the same mounting points as the real armatu
  12. Overall condition of decals/box/instructions does not matter as long as all the parts are there.
  13. I ordered a lot of Mr Hobby stuff, including their lacquer thinner and a heap of Surfacer with some paints from a HK seller on Ebay. Usually they just chuck it in the air mail but this time it had to go with sea freight, so I guess the postal services wizened up and are now scrutinizing what they send by air more closely. It has never really been okay to ship this stuff via air mail, they've just ignored that previously.
  14. It's the same old php injection, who knows what else is compromised. I get it when searching for images on Google Images and it links to a thread here, as well.
  15. Without mandible modification and other fixes the FM MF isn't studio scale accurate in proportions, regardless. For example http://www.therpf.com/f11/fm-1-72-millennium-falcon-mandible-surgery-159331/ I would personally take great pride in having an exact replica of the studio scale model, studio scale nutter that I am, but I would not expect the judges to have any clue about that. I'd aim to do that in 32'', not in an 18'' length MF as I believe it would be a wasted effort. You cannot really recreate the flash and correct imperfections outside of using real greeblie parts donors, so it's a

  17. Well that is cute an' all but I did not state I had built them, just that I was relaying what was presented in the book. A book that has clear pictures of the wheel wells you feel the need to mention for some reason. It served me very well when building 2 x 1/32 Doras. The book goes into the C models from HobbyBoss which were available at the time and lists numerous inaccuracies. Those aren't relevant for the D-9 so I skipped that, I also skipped a large volume of kit reviews to keep it short and summarized into the above. Fact of the matter is the Valiant Wings book is excellent and can be h
  18. A very good option on references is the Valiant Wings offering http://www.valiant-wings.co.uk/airframe--miniature-no3-19-p.asp In addition to the references it has reviews of kits across all scales, and in 1/48 the notable options are A: Tamiya for ease of build -among other things, it's apparently based off the D-9 with the USAF Museum which at the time had D-13 wings, this was later corrected in the 2002 reissue with JV44 markings, B: Eduard for accuracy, but harder assembly. C: Dragon, old Trimaster toolings sometimes updated depending on version, repopped by Italeri and Revell, hard to
  19. As topic, looking for the old Eduard Ju 52 in floatplane configuration in 1:144. Or perhaps just the floaty bits and associated decals if your kit was built without using them. Not interested in any other version of the kit.
