  1. That is just fantastic man. Beautiful! The base is awesome too. The Academy CH/MH-53 kits are just awesome to see built. What aftermarket did you use? Any? Bravo!
  2. Yeah, I would like to know this as well. I just assumed all of the first boxings would have both canopies. This is the first time I have heard otherwise. Anyone know anything more about this that can explain clearly how to tell?
  3. I just pre-ordered from HobbyEasy, $62USD plus $12.82 AIR shipping to the US. About $75 USD shipped to the US is not a bad deal at all for this bad boy and to ensure I get both canopies. http://www.hobbyeasy.com/en/data/2gtw7pte7yawsgorv9kb.html
  4. Very nice work and quite an impressive output! My favorites are the two Mustangs, too bad one of them was destroyed. The Wessex is really cool too. Well done!
  5. Thanks, as always, Darren! Thanks Falcon! Thanks Ryan! Yeah, just ten. My goal is to average one a month. But I am not off to a good start this year. I haven't sat at my work bench since November 8th. Need to get the mojo back! Thank you Dan! Thanks Mstor, I really appreciate the kind words. Thanks Brandon, I am very happy with what I was able to accomplish this year. Thanks Calum! I really love the WW too. She sure looks good in Euro I, totally
  6. I built a Hasegawa F-4G and took some pics of my metalwork process in the exhaust area... My metalwork process: Alclad Airframe Aluminum sprayed on all areas to be metal- Alclad Pale Burnt Metal applied in the panel lines and panel edges- Alclad Burnt Iron applied to create burnt areas- Lastly, added Tamiya Rubber Black to give it that "sooty" burnt metal look- This process is pretty easy and only took me a couple nights to do. While not as awesome or convincing as Spruemeister's work, it is
  7. It's that time of year again! So I was a bit less productive this year, producing a total of 10 models compared to last year's 13. But I feel the overall quality of my builds has increased, so I am happy about that! So, without further ado, here is my year in review, in order. I hope you like! #1 - 1/48 Tamiya P-51K Mustang "The Oklahoma Kid" Started 12/23/16 - Completed 1/6/17 (14 days) This is my first propeller plane and first NMF attempt. My unfamiliarity with prop planes led to some errors, but the NMF finish turned out pretty
  8. I also have had good luck with replacement parts from them. They replaced cracked upper and lower fuselages for my Kitty Hawk MiG-25. You will probably hear from Sophia@Kitty Hawk soon...😉
  9. I bought his B-58 Hustler cockpit set, and despite no communication (his odd ordering procedure led me to wonder if he even got my order), mine arrived rather quickly after ordering it. Fantastic set too. I really hope he gets the Cobra Company stuff going. I am going to be making some orders for sure, I am still mad at myself for waiting to buy a bunch of stuff from Cobra Company and then getting completely shut out of everything. LOL Won't make that mistake again.
  10. Thanks Janissary! Thanks, rom, I really appreciate that! Thanks Sasa! I think that contrast is really what makes the model so interesting to look at. Hehe, yes, you should get one! :-) Thanks Silenoz! Thanks again Red for you kind words and support! Thanks CJ! Haha, yeah, I wasn't kidding! I build very quickly, and this one took me almost exactly one month. That seems to be my rate, one about every 3-4 weeks. Thanks Steve, metalwork is my favorite thing to d
  11. You know, it is interesting you bring that up. That is something I really had an issue with as well. I tried no less than three different sources for it, and what I settled on will surprise you. First, I tried the kit ones, but the red was so transparent (disappeared when applied to the dark paint) that I gave up on it right away. I refused to use the Begemot ones because they did not look right compared to pics I have seen. The dashes should be equal, but on the Begemot sheet they are of differing lengths. So I broke into one of my Eduard Flanker kits that have Cartograf decals in it, an
  12. I have bought both tubes of mine from eBay. I can usually find it for around $10 or less there.
  13. Well, this project has been completed! Thanks everyone for watching, offering ideas and conversation, and for all the kind compliments.
  14. Thanks Red! That was really fun to do. Not too many subjects allow you to get wild with color like that! Thanks so much for the kind words Joel! I am lucky to be blessed with a steady hand, and it seems to be getting better with practice.
  15. Hi all! I present to you my latest project, the 1/48 Kitty Hawk Su-35S Flanker-E, "Red 08" in the unique Eggplant Dark Gray scheme of the Russian Air Force, circa 2014. This is really a great kit that has excellent fit almost everywhere, with the wing joins being the notable exception. The kit is not without other issues, however. The exhaust nozzles are molded in the straight position which would only be correct for a powered up machine, not drooped at rest. The stinger tail has flare boxes on the top, which is only correct for the prototypes and early production ai
  16. That is simply beautiful! Perfect weathering and nice, crisp paintwork. Well done!
  17. Absolutely masterful finish Hammer! Very realistic, perfection, really. Bravo!
  18. Beautiful Fitter Sasa! Your colors, paintwork, and weathering are top notch. Well done!
  19. Well, this project is almost done! All I have left to do now is to paint the inner canopy frame and attach the canopy, so I will leave you with one teaser before the final reveal soon... Enjoy!
  20. Thanks Red! Yeah, it might have been the paint, although I did not have the problem with the other Mr Paint colors I have used so far, but I have not used any Mr Paint colors this dark before, so maybe the others had frosting too, but I just didn't notice it before because the colors were so light or such a small area. Thanks Peter! I am quite happy with the missiles, particularly the Krytons. They turned out very nice especially the weathered metal aeas.
  21. I used a 1/4" quick connect and then a 1/4" to 1/8" reducer for the hose. I will take pics when I get home later so you can see.
  22. Well, got the missiles done finally. Man, that was really quite a job! 10 of them, and each with what seemed like a million stencils. The missiles are all from the kit, however the stencils are from the Begemot Su-35 sheet, which is very very nice as usual!
  23. Thanks for the tips Gabor, hopefully it helps someone who sees this figure out how to attach the nose on this kit without frustration like me. LOL
