Hi Curtis, This one from VX-5 China Lake circa 1984-5 was in the 3 tone gray camo. Wish it looked like it did when it was just finished. It lost the argument between my X and me. Here is a photo I just scanned taken on March 26, 1985 Three distinctly different shades of gray. Cheers, Larry.

just had too... You know it looks like they went to Detroit and got GM to make these for them... Kinda hard to duplicate too... Let me show ya somethin... LOL... Of course not finished yet but I'm almost to the painting stage. Revell F/A-18E slowly getting there... Cheers, Larry.

Mr Jung... How about some nice AB sections w/ nozzles for the F/A-18E/F's. Seems making them from scratch is the only way to get any at the moment. That would be ABSOLUTELY a big seller from everyone that is makin the Super Hornet these days... Cheers, Larry.

FS 36231 is the overall color. Then there is the Black plastic pieces that cover up whatever that are on the side walls. So that's what you are talking about being black... Like the shots posted here at ARC walkarounds. And in the second shot starboard side you see the map case to the rear that is black as well... Hope that helps. Cheers, Larry.

When I talked to a crew chief on the F-106A he said to keep them Radomes nice and shiny they used boot polish and rubbed the hell out of m. Whatever the case they always were glossy. When I did my 106 I just masked it and the antiglare panel at the same time with 3M fineline tape and shot it with MM flat black then just masked the radome off and shot it with metalizer sealer and it came out like this... Hope that helps... Cheers, Larry.

What would you be willing to pay for a Revell A-6E or EA-6A I may be able to fix you up with one so you can keep your existing Intruder to remind you just how much better you've become as a modeler. Send me a PM if you want an A-6E or EA-6A Cheers, Larry.

Ok, which is the most beautiful aircraft kit ever produced?
Incaroad replied to sbc3133r's topic in Jet Modeling
It appears that not everyone read your rules of engagement... 1) manufacturer & year manufactured: Hasegawa 1988 2) parts count / kit accurancy: (if possible) 292 pieces. As accurate as it could be I would guess 2) full name / version of aircraft: F-14A Tomcat Pacific Fleet Squardrons 3) which country / squadron: USof A!!! I liked the VF-111 markings 4) most of all...why it's the best!? The Tomcat, in my opinion is by far the most gorgeous airframe to ever grace the sky. It's mission with it's weapons will probably never be equaled or duplicated ever again. Another opinion is; the -
At China Lake's Traffic Circle: A4D-1 #2 of the assembly line. Labeled wrong as well. TA-4F with a HARM nose at the Museum... QF-86F QF-4N...not a gate guard but was a nice day and a nice exposure. Scanned real nice I think. AV-8A. F/A-18A prototype and FAT MAN Cheers, Larry.

I suspect you're probably right. I was just quoting Beetle Juice! LOL... Nothing surprises me... Cheers, Larry.

I was down there yesterday with 3 other guy's that work for me helping to set up 4 KTM's from China Lake to track the Shuttle coming home. I couldn't make it back there today, but the the three that work for me said it was Spectacular being less than 500ft from the Runway recording the event. I was there for the last one in the early morning hours and that was a fantastic sight as well... Cheers, Larry.

Hmmm you're right, mine doesn't have any at all and it's the second issue.!!! Cheers, Larry.

F-15CrewChief : My first question is, what do you assemble the major components together with? Are you using a solvent based cement like Testors liquid, Weld-on 3/4 (my choice), Tenex, Tube cement, or ACC? Even the old Monogram kits that aren't suppose to fit very well...I've always assembled with Weld-on 3 or 4, and they don't require as much filler as you've initially used on your F/A-18F, unless of course I've made a mistake. Some don't like Weld-On or Tenax as they say you can see where the model was joined, as it sinks right where the seem is, but if left long enough, week or 10 days

Besides the Buddy packs how about some really accurate BURNER CANS for the F/A-18E/F! That is what we really need especially for the Revell F/A-18E/F! How bout that? Cheers, and hoping before July!!! Larry.

Some time ago over on Hyperscale Swanny gave this to anyone that wanted it. So if this don't work for ya, go to swanny's site and brouse around till ya find it... As far as intake covers I think it looks much better with the intakes uncovered but if you need to make some they aint' that hard to make. I made a form for this F-5E from a spare kit's intakes then Vac-u-formed the covers. They look pretty convincing to me at least. Hope that helps. Cheers, Larry.

Wow guy's that was quick! THANKS A BUNCH!!! Just what I need!!! Cheers, Larry. -
"I would like to point out to You that Larry appearently has put quite some effort in his little Tiger. The enclosed pic's show engraved panel-lines. The Revell/Monogram kit originaly comes with raised panel-lines." Yes Spooky is correct. I put allot into this F-5E but at the same time I think it's the only model I've built that I knew exactly what I wanted from the get go. I started this and finished it in a couple months way back when. The cockpit was enhanced from the original Monogram stuff considerably. I can't say I scratch built the whole thing but I did scratch build allot of it. I ca

From what I understand and from a review at the AVG meeting it's a nice kit but still has nose shape problems. Monogram's A-10A is still the best shaped Warthog out there! But if recessed panel lines is important to ya and ya don't wanna re-scrib then the Hobby Boss kits pretty nice. Check here for a review: http://www.network54.com/Forum/149674/message/1172015735/ HTH Cheers, Larry.

thank you very much C Ish. Cheers, Larry.

There is only one really nice 1/48th scale kit and that's Monogram's (can't say Revell) F-5E. It is a very nice kit although it shows it's age it's still the only one to use in my opinion. An example built in the mid 80's. Hope this helps. Cheers, Larry.

These have to be some of the easiest things in the world to make. Takes all of 10 minutes start to actually painting them. Check these out... 1/48th scale but 1/32 ain't gonna be that much different. Aluminum tubing in your dremel tool and put a bit of ACC on the end for a cap, put a bit of styrene with a little hole in it and viola an AIM-9L/M seeker cover... How much easier can it be. Hope that helps a little... Cheers, Larry.

Nice shots. That ONG F-15D scheme is one of the nicest I've seen. Trying out a new camera, what model? Cheers, Larry.
