Are these just mockups off the CAD for an injection molded kit? Hi B, Somewhere I've seen a picture of the forward upper fuselage half of the Minibase F-16B kit, and I swear this piece was 3D-printed. Perhaps it's these pictures which Solo has posted and can't be seen, or could it be that are those posted on Britmodeller? Yep! While those definitely appear 3D printed, I think they are a pre “test shot”. If all seems reasonable with the 3D printed parts, they’ll move in to cutting the molds. serendip
Thanks all, Still wondering how far along they are with this kit and when projected release will be. Smart to test basic fit using 3D printed parts first. There has been speculation that 3D printing based on the CAD design accommodates more detail than in the (plastic) injected parts so that potentially the actual kit will be less detailed. Not sure if that is true or a rumour. Marc.
salomon
How long we have to waiting for the release ? Any news guys ? I don't buy the excellent Kinetic's Falcon Familly because I belive the Minibase guys will make a better kit but the years go by since they announced the F-16 project. Specter1075
They announced their Su-30SM even longer ago. They have been so quiet for so long it does make one wonder what's up with them.
salomon
Money is the principal motivation, I'm already their Su-33's supporter and have two of their kit. When the Su30SM will be release and I'll go to grad also two boxes. For the F-16 family I'll buy all of them.

Specter1075
That's unfortunate. Where did they announce that? Was there a revised timeline? 40 minutes ago, Helmsman said: It is postponed so F-16 will be first.

salomon
I think they don't have the financial strength like Trumpeter or Hobby Boss to realize projects easily. However, Minibase guys are very good and we can see the design of their SU-33, plus they know how to evolve with 3D printed parts. I hope that their projects like the SU-30SM and the F-16 family will come out, which will make us very happy Edited May 10 by salomon
