Spectre711
I'm not much of a Great War builder but I think it would be a Great Idea to commemorate the 100th anniversary.Take the ball and run or maybe I can help mod. I think the montage says it all and could be open to anything (land, sea or air) pertaining to the war. Edited October 24, 2013 by Spectre711
rightwinger26
I would be in with HMS Dreadnaught, but alas, I won't be doing much building over the next year or so. But still a fantastic idea to honor the men who fought in the war to end all wars. Bill
WymanV
I've been working my way through the stash by doing theme builds for the last few years and the most recent one is FW-190s/JG54. I have 2 1/4 left to build and the theme will be done. And I've been thinking the next theme will be WW I. I have 16 WW I planes in the stash and I suspect it'll take until 2018 to finish them all. So yeah, I'd be in :thumbsup:/> Ken
vince14
Heck, I've got a shelf full of Wingnut Wings kits waiting to be built...count me in! Vince
is it windy yet?
I'll be part of it.
Procopius
I just bought a hutload of 1/72 stuff. I'd be interested. Thrill as I swear my way through a Roden kit! Blanche as I screw up rigging! Gasp as I fling a tiny biplane that I paid real money for at the wall!
Pete
I should join this. The 1st World War had such an impact on the rest of the 20th century, it would be a sin not to have a GB about it.
Aaronw
Great idea, I've got plenty of things to build.
Spectre711
Anybody want to take the lead on this and co moderate this with me? One or two others would be great especially if you have more knowledge than me in the subject. I think this GB should include ships as well as land units including figures. I don't think there is one thing that more memorable about this event than the trench warfare stalemate.
Procopius
What would moderating entail?
Spectre711
Basically commenting on progress, answering questions on if the build fits the GB and pushing builds that might need a little prodding. I pretty much did the National Reserves one myself but it helps if there are two or three involved. A mod might also fish around for possible sponsors who wish to donated something for a raffle at the end of the GB.
vince14
I'll co-mod with you - I'm currently running the Out of Africa GB. Vince
Procopius
I'd also be willing to help, assuming you even need a third person.
Spectre711
I think 2 or 3 is fine since sometimes people get in a rut. Now we have to get some votes since there are 6 for yes and 4 for no. I could have sworn it had 7 before.

Spectre711
Nice, I think the figure guys could be involved in this with stand alone figures or a diorama.
Spectre711
So I think we need a name for this GB that will be respectful but catchy. Edited October 21, 2013 by Spectre711
Spectre711
Anybody with some imagination have a name? I just have THE WAR TO END WAR GB and THE GREAT WAR GB.

Pete
I don't think the Great War GB is such a bad name.
