  1. Tom, the later H boxing (14641) has the Phase VI extension on the sprue with the EVS pods and other antenna fairings...is that what you're referring to? Minicraft 1/144 B-52H "Current Flying Version" Kit Review - 2Modeler.com (dembrudders.com) Also, I just picked up the D/E boxing last week, and it includes that same late H-model sprue. Chris
  2. About two weeks ago I noticed their website wasn't accepting orders, and my subsequent inquiries by phone and email went unanswered... Chris
  3. Good eye, that was something apparent in the photos and I wanted to try to replicate where the SAC-era markings had been overpainted. Chris
  4. This model represents KC-135R 60-0331 during the 1993-1995 timeframe when the KC-135 Formal Training Unit was in the process of transitioning from a SAC unit at Castle AFB to an AETC mission at Altus AFB. The 93d Bomb Wing, long the home of B-52 (328 BS) and KC-135 (93 ARS) initial aircrew training at Castle AFB, was reassigned to Air Combat Command in June of 1992, taking the B-52Gs with it until their retirement in 1994, and the Wing was subsequently inactivated in 1995 when Castle closed down. Meanwhile, as part of the broader tanker and airlift consolidation under Air Mobilit
  5. I forgot Minicraft sells direct...thanks for the reminder. Will go that route if no trades materialize. At the top of my 1/72 trade pile are the Platz T-33, Italeri TB-58, and Italeri C-119. Chris
  6. I'd like to find a couple of these...can buy outright or I have some kits/decals to trade. Located in Nebraska, thanks. Chris
  7. I can help with the Beale markings from either the TwoBobs set or Wolfpack kit. Chris
  8. Watching with interest Don! One could spend a lifetime just modeling all the different versions/eras of the C-135 family. Chris
  9. Such a great time to be a modeler of 1/144 USAF subjects, thanks for scaling these down! Chris
  10. Welcome Joe! I recognize your name from other forums but didn't realize you are in Texas...I hope to make it down there for the Nationals next summer! Chris
  11. The ALCM-modified B-52Gs had a modified wing root to differentiate them for treaty purposes; the ALCM-modified H models feature an additional pair of antennas for treaty identification, and therefore share the same original wing root as the unmodified B-52Gs. Chris
  12. What version/era are you building? Chris
  13. The TF33 nacelles of the AMT H-model kit are considered undersized, but the J57s of the G look ok to me. Chris
  14. Trying to better understand the different ECM antennas under the aft fuselage and in front of the main gear...I'd originally thought the blade antennas were completely replaced by the flush-mounted antennas, but it appears that both versions have been in the field for 20+ years...apparently the flush-mounted version was never fully installed fleet-wide? 15. Congrats, looks great! I like the patches too. Chris
  16. B-52 Wing Root Correction, Buffmaster Designs BMDR72013 (scalemates.com) I've got one I don't need, let me know if you are interested. Chris
  17. Got mine, they look phenomenal! Thanks for doing these! Chris
  18. Looks great; can't remember the last time I saw someone build an ADF Viper with AIM-7s. Chris
  19. I don't know how well GPS does with terrain avoidance, and in my experience both LITENING and Sniper rely on the host aircraft for the navigation data. I think we've become accustomed to medium altitude employment from many years of permissive environments...anything more challenging may drive the Strike Eagles low again, hence training such as the Mach Loop. To the original question, I'm not aware of any upgrades, and haven't seen a nav pod on a Block 40/42 in many years. Chris
  20. Hoping someone who used a resin cockpit still has the cockpit tub (26), instrument panels (69, 70), sticks (29, 129), and the handhold (28) from the kit. Can trade or buy outright, located in Nebraska. Thanks! Chris
  21. Is this one of the decals you're looking for? TWA 757-200, Minicraft Model Kits 14482 (2001) (scalemates.com) Chris
