  1. If nothing else it will drive down the price of the hasegawa kits. If not retail, then on the second hand market.
  2. You wouldn't happen to be taking one of the lovely DAU courses? If so I'd pack no doze or lots of caffeine!
  3. Can't help u with the parts but you may want to look on ebay for the weapons set. I've seen the Japanese set A go for around $10. Also a word of warning, the fins aren't correct for US version so you'll have to scratch build. Not a complicated but somewhat of a chore chore. (I've done 3 already)
  4. Will they be offering replacement canopies to those of us that spend $ on their original release?
  5. I'd guess it is more a workload issue and time associated with painting a complex scheme. Navy squadrons have been using copywrited images for years. Felix, Bill the Cat, Kenny from South Park, vader, etc for years. I'm not sure if they get special permission, have a special use clause in the law or just rely on being the military to use them. I'd hope whatever it was hasn't changed. If indeed it was Disney saying "no" I hope the squadron makes a big stink to the press.
  6. For most hard core modelers the decal options should not make much of a difference. Most folks on this website are aware of aftermarket decal options and will seek them if necessary. If the kit is quality the hard core modeler will buy it, regardless of the decals (although quality decals of a lesser done subject would be a bonus.) On the other hand, a more causal modeler will usually just build what's in the box and buy based on box art. So from a manufacturer's point of view, why limit your appeal to a narrow audience that will probably not base their decision on decal options? FWIW, I
  7. Preaching to the choir, but what are you going to do? Our society values entertainment and athletics more than knowledge and rational thought. Nerds weren't cool until people needed them to fix their /iPhone or network their computer. It's not right and I have no answer on how to fix it.
  8. 1. Does it really matter? The majority of people are ignorant about alot of history (Leno never had to work to hard to find them on his "jay walking" segment), why get worked up about something you can't change 2. Our service men and women (past and present ) defend the rights our founding fathers fought for, so I hardly see it as dishonoring the revolution by celebrating the military on the 4th. 3. I'd be more upset by the current fascination of the American public and media with the "royals" that we fought to get rid of. Who gives a rats behind about "the royal baby" or the "royal weddi
  9. No one's claiming it is. The point is "under promise and over deliver". The model industry is full of companies doing the opposite so modelers have a right to be skeptical of pre-pre-announcements. I'm all about generating excitement for a new product, but wait until you have something to show. Schedules slip, delays happen, so why box yourself in by making premature announcements?
  10. I prefer PayPal for the convenience, but understand why some sellers don't like it. As a compromise I will sometimes offer to send money as "gift" or friends/family to avoid fees. This doesn't offer buyer protection, but if it is a trusted seller I don't mind. 99% of sellers here a honest people. I've done a fair amount of trading and buying here and never really gotten burned (other than by usps losing a book and crushing some decals :( )
  11. ECM bumps behind the cockpit is the biggest give away. D's have them, B's dont.
  12. The best I've ever done with "best offer" is knocking $5 off the buy it now price. I think it is just designed to draw more attention to the listing by making people think they have a chance to barter. The seller is hoping you will make offers thinking you have control, but really they aren't willing to budge much. Sort of like the guy at the flea market that marks his crap way above actual retail value and then says "make me an offer".
  13. Hi Tim No emails from you in spam either. Please try sending me a PM. Sorry for the problems Ryan
  14. +1. I don't get it, but my wife doesn't get modeling. There are a bunch of hobbies out there I find boring as hell, but people spend millions of dollars and hours doing every year. To each their own. As long as it isn't harming anyone else, who cares?
  15. The first few shuttle launches were equip with ejection seats too.
  16. I'm looking to round out my collection of 1/48 hasegawa hornets. (Yes Nick, I admit it's a collection, but I do intent to build them all someday). I'm not too picky on condition as long as the kit is complete and the decals intact. Sealed kits prefer but not necessary. Here's what I'm looking for: Teir 1 (easier to find, one for one trades): 1/48 hasegawa Golden Dragon CAG bird 07067 https://www.scalemates.com/kits/953229-hasegawa-07067-f-a-18c-golden-dragons-cag-bird 1/48 hasegawa CF-188 D-day anniversary PT102 " https://www.scalemates.com/kits/177922-hasegawa-pt102-cf-188a-hornet 1/
  17. But when compared to An A+ or a C?
  18. Whitey, not doubting your gouge, but wouldn't switching BA to supers go against the long standing Navy policy of saving the best for the front line fleet? Or are there enough supers beginning to approach their trap limits?
  19. Yes, it is the Italeri kit rebox.
  20. Don't worry, it won't be necessary, the JSF will never break...
  21. And for only $39. Better buy 3!
  22. Define good? Are you looking for realistic, good graphics, easy game play?, ww1, ww2, modern? Carrier based, dog fighting, mud moving? Lots of options based on what you like. I also would strongly suggest a joystick. To me it would be like painting a model without an airbrush. It's possible, just makes getting the correct results much harder.
