  1. I found this same blunder on the test A-10 in Euro 1 while at McClellan AFB but it was the wingtop stencil. Have a pic. of it somewhere. Took it for this very reason as I want to do the build and see if any show judges "catch" it, then show the photo. The nose art said "Make my day" with a painted hog head.
  2. Kind of continuing my earlier question here, but now I am committed since i've actually bought the stuff! Due to what was available with the Black Friday/Cyber Monday deals, bought the 1/200 Iowa from Squadron, then bought the Pontos Full Detail up set later at SB. After buying I realized I ended up with the Pontos Missouri 1945 set with the blue wood decking. I would like to make the Iowa kit into the Missouri late war 1945 as the Pontos set provides. Is this no problem? If not sure, and any of you are also members of the ship model sites, would you mind asking for me? Thanks!
  3. Zerosystem - Peter not only sold at a great deal but all arrived quick, well packed, and as requested. Super pleased here - THANKS!
  4. I go with Magi-Sculpt because it is an epoxy two part putty which unlike solvent based putties, does not shrink and can be thinned by water while pliable. The shrinking of tube putties is from the evaporation of the solvent when drying. Deep filling can seem flush after a few days, but Months later can still shrink under the finished surface - Ugh!
  5. Yes, Mailbox shows as FULL so asking of the following here: Any of these still avail? 1/144 Revell B-52H $5.00 1/72 Trump. F-100C $5.00 1/48 Matchbox AD-5 $7.00 1/48 Testors AH-1S $5.00 I am in Everett, WA 98201 Thanks, Erik
  6. Yes, true but like to know as a buyer what differences from each kit as is "in the box" as WWII builds since I might have to go ahead and get the Iowa. Just like to know if it is considered a lesser kit than the Mo. in any way. Thanks.
  7. Thanks, I had read that one before but it doesn't directly say both kits are the same. Read that the Iowa didn't match drawings, but Mo did? That confused me as I may have misunderstood the statement because if the kits are the same as far as major parts (Hull, deck, etc.) then both would measure the same. And for me to ask this at those ship sites, would have to register, etc. and I don't care to go through all that just for a question. Was hoping to find it here...
  8. Bit of a cost on purchase of these and after looking around this internet thing, still found no definite answer. Besides the number, what makes these kits different? They are from the same mold as far as the big parts? I originally wanted the Mo, but am told seller only has Iowa now. Don't mind doing a WWII build but anything I should know before I drop serious $$? Thanks!
  9. Yes, posting two years later but still like to say Thanks for the tip, I will be checking mine...
  10. Nice to see such attention to the old girl. Another way to reset those raised lines after the cut is to just rub the line back and forth. Another thing I want to try on a raised line kit (as long as the detail is accurate) is to micromesh over the line so it comes through the paint, as long as the plastic is a good color. Been wanting to do this with the 1/48 Monogram A-10.
  11. Okay, thought i'da mighta seen my first "live" sighting of one and was curious if anyone knew of one in the area. Must've been a Growler, we do have a big nest of them here. Thanks!
  12. Gary nails it again - super stuff Sir! :thumbsup:/> That Eagle tucking it in is the one!
  13. Yes, very nice work and appreciate you posting them. Wonder, you think we will see civilian operated F-4's in the future? (I think there's an F-4C, any others?)
  14. That is true and thought of that, but the nose looked long and like the size of an Eagle. Would China be authorized to bring one in as escort?
  15. So I saw what looked to me like an Su-27 (or a 30, etc?) with no time to fetch camera for confirming zoom shot. It was banking North west of Everett, WA today. Any confirmation like around Whidbey? China's President left from here today, was it escort?
  16. Hah, funny I was just over at JBOT filling a cart. I will check it out - Thanks.
  17. THANK YOU Jennings, now for markings I only have older Microscale decals for 707. Any decals in this scale available in the U.S. or should I look into upsizing my MS sheet?
  18. Happen to have the 1/100 scale AWACS kit (Nitto?) and regardless of type intended by maker, what Boeing jet does it CLOSEST resemble out of the box? Thanks.
  19. During my last few years living in No. Calif. I was getting around in a worn and tired 1984 Chevy S-10 ex-Forestry service truck which was underpowered. In order to place blame on it and not me, I had a large white custom decal made for the rear cab window (on a pickup, decals on the rear glass are considered non-obstructive, like if you are carrying a load, or have a shell) which stated, "If I was driving my '70 Chevelle SS 502, you'd be in my way". It sure seemed to help as I never had any tailgaters and if there was someone driving their Chevelle, etc. would get a thumbs up.
  20. Well, what nationality is your Girlfriend? This is the one to crank; (and meanwhile watch...)
  21. Thank you very much for as thorough an answer one could hope to get Max! I will catalog it accordingly...
  22. It's the "GGG!" (Great Grabs Gary!)once again - Thanks!
  23. As usual, great stuff Gary, and Very Much appreciate that you not only share at ARC, but the format is perfect for my older computer. I gather KC-10 images for the future 1/72 Anigrand KC_10 "Build Challenge" and your crisp well-angled shots are a super resource. Anyway, being just North of Seattle, retired after 21 yrs. at McChord on C-17, worked C-5, KC-10 (here and there)at Travis, with MOST of my career on fighters (F-4E/G, F-111, A-10), certainly agree with the locals that we are sure left high and dry when it comes to the Air Force' "Little Friends". Do admit I might've stayed in a f
  24. combo A-20G 417th B.G. 675th B.S. 1944 (Green Hornet) and P-40E 49th F.G. 8th F.S. 1943 (Ana May)?? I did see where Finemolds lists it as 48-SAMP 1. Wondering where I would keep it in the Superscale stack for storage? Thanks!
  25. Hello, excitement can follow with a kit when the box is opened, but Tamiya really didn't get much right on this one. With the 1/32 Trumpeter kit having the same inherent issues as 1/48 Tamiya, I believe they used it when they tooled the larger kit (unfortunately!). Starting from the front, the nose needs reshaping, the HUD is incorrect (it is of the two pane early type), the canopy needs altering if you want it open, the engine slats misshaped, the HUGE issue for me is the main wheel sponsons. They are misshapen and oversized. They make it look like an amphibious A-10, like floats. The wingtip
