  1. I have opened the box just to inspect the part trees but they are still in their original sealed bags. I am willing to sell the kit for $10 plus $5 for shipping - US addresses only, OR I'd be willing to trade the kit for any of the following 1/72 kits: Tamiya 1/72 P-47 Razorback (NOT interested in the Bubbletop so please even ask) Tamiya 1/72 Mosquito - either the Recon or FB version IMPORTANT: If you'd like to talk about a deal with me PLEASE...PLEASE....email me directly at: GNomad781@gmail. Thanks, Tim (NJ - U.S.A.)
  2. Really enjoyed the creativity you showed with this poll Miccara.
  3. Here are the links: F-4E Phantom - Vietnam (Hard Wing) Conversion Set F-4E/F Phantom Upgrade Set
  4. I just finished buying some mini-files through an Ebay merchant but when I got the files they were so darn crappy that I just threw the whole set in the trash. Soooo.....not wanting to throw more of my hard earned $$ down the toilet I'm hoping someone will be able to point me in the direction where I can fine some good quality miniature files - the one set that I'm currently using are about 4" long. I will be eternally grateful to anyone who can be of assistance!! Thanks, Tim P.S. Of course if I knew where I purchased my original set I'd go back there but unfortunately I can't for the life
  5. I agree with what Thunder Thud suggested about talking to your parents & explaing the problem to them. If you get no satisfaction from taking this route my next question to you would be are you using Tamiya Acrylics and if so are you thinning them with the Tamiya Acrylic paint thinner? Hang in there my friend......!
  6. Gentlemen, thank you kindly for all you great suggestions!! Some very useful ideas put forth.....
  7. To add to what others have already said, I've used the blue-tac on several planes I've built and the only times it has left anykind of mark was when I was using Tamiya flat acrylics. Whenever I used the stuff over Gunze Mr. Gunze Gloss or Semi-gloss colors I've had no problem.
  8. Now before you go and say something like, "just go out and buy the Hasegawa kit" you need to know that I already have 6 of the Hasegawa kits in my stash. That said, I'd purchased 5 of the Classic Airframes kit well before I even knew that Hasegawa was going to be releasing their 2 seater version and I'd really like to try and see how they compare fit wise with the Hasegawa kit. Anyway what I'm looking for is just a real quick & easy way to replicate the quilting found on the inside sidewalls of the cockpit area. Any ideas.....anyone? Thanks, Tim
  9. Yeah I'm not exactly sure what the problem is but I know that several people have mentioned a problem with the adhesion for the Mr. Metal paints - I've actually put aside my Gunze Mr. Metal paints in favor of the Hawkeye Model's Talon Series of acrylic based NMF paints.
  10. Thank you sir. I think I'm gonna go ahead and give them a try, I figure at this stage I really don't have anything to lose.
  11. I'd like to hear from someone who has this set of gun barrels - specifically I'd like to know whether you think they are worth purchasing - in other words, are they a significant improvement over the ones that come with in the Hasegawa kit? Thanks! Tim
  12. So here's my situation, I currently have 99% of my unbuilt stash of models stored in a self-storage unit. Seeing as how it gets rather humid here in New Jersey during the summer I was advised to take the kit decals out of the boxes and store them inside. My question is this, is there a specific type of archival sleave I should put them in or will just any only binder do? I just don't want to put them in a simple plastic cover and have them stick to the plastic. Thanks in advance! Tim
  13. Well if you are looking for someplace modeling related you could swing by AAA Hobbies over on Whitehorse Pike in Magnolia, NJ - I'm guessing it's not more than 15 /20 minutes by car from Camden. AAA Hobbies is where Stevens International, the Trumpeter Importer in the USA, is located. They have what I'd consider a fairly well stocked selection of all kind of models & paints. I think they might have a few after-market items but not that many if I recall correctly.
  14. I ordered this airbrush about a month ago because I wanted a second airbrush (I already own another SPARMAX) but decided to sell it because it does not have the same little cap on the paint source as my SPARMAX SP-35 does. Note: it is not missing the paint cap, it's just that this particular version does not have one - something I wasn't aware of when I originally ordered it. Of course if you own a SPARMAX SP-35 and would like to arrange a trade I'd be happy to accomodate you :-) Best regards, Tim Lingle NJ - U.S.A.
  15. I was just thumbing through the latest Micro-Mark Catalog and I came across some "Rifler Files" and they really look like they'd be great for getting in some hard to reach places and areas involving "awkward" angles. I'm seriously considering ordering them but would like to hear from anyone who actually owns and uses them - basicially I'd just like to hear whether or not you felt they are really worth having. As always, thanks for all helpful responses. Tim
  16. I've had no luck finding either of these sets online - I've found a few vendors that carry Quickboost stuff but no one seems to have these particular items in stock. I'm in the USA but will consider making the purchase from overseas. Thanks, Tim
  17. Hi Albert, I'm not sure if this would actually do the trick but I do have a spare canopy from a Hasegawa 1/48 F-4J kit that you could have. If you're interested please PM me. Regards, Tim
  18. Bottom line here seems to be that some of you prefer the older Matchbox Lightning and some of you would prefer to build the new Trumpeter version. No big deal gentlemen......there is I believe PLENTY of room for everyone under this 'ere modeling umbrella.
  19. You really want to know what I think about it.......I think it very VERY nicely done my friend. Thank you for taking the time to share your images with the rest of us. Again....VERY nice work.
  20. That is AWESOME news Raymond........great work!!! Thank you so much for putting in the hard work to bring the sets to us "grumbling" modelers!!
  21. I wouldn't give up just yet my friend, I know there are a couple of guys who vist ARC who are also members of the Russian modeling site, scalemodels.ru who might be able to shed some light on the listing you are interested in.
  22. Thanks for the posting. Now I'm not really all that up on the Chinese J-10 but isn't this the plane that the Chinese received some technical support from Israeli in the design and construction......yes....no??? Looking at the images in the link you provided the plane kind of reminds of the Israeli Lavi Fighter.
  23. If by "nuts" you are referring to whether or not the seller is "mentally unstable"........well let's just say I think that sort of determination should best be left to a professional in the field of pyschiatry <wink> I see that the HLJ is carrying what appears to be the same kit on their website (albeit the stock status at the time of this post is listed as "LOW") for around $55.00 USD. Of course if this is limited release from Hasegawa you just never know what one person might be willing to pay. I'm guessing that for the majority of the modelers who frequent ARC the sellers $125 aski
  24. Seriously, didn't you guys even read all of Jerry's post - he said he's already checked LuckyModel AND the the Wolfpack resin site to no avail. Anyway Jerry I was just over perusing the HLJ website and they were showing the set you were looking as being in stock. Here's the link: Link to HLJ listing
  25. Yeah I agree, but then again who knows.......if this set sells well we might see a follow-up set.
