  1. Having seen "Season 2" on DVD (at least, that's what it's marketed as - there are only 10 episodes), I'm still big on the show. Big changes afoot that I hope will lead to episodes as good as Season 1.
  2. Would you two be so kind as to provide decal information for your kits? I'd like to add it to the 1:32 kit database. Thanks!
  3. Yes, I've seen the claus gustafsen site. His info provided a portion of what's been documented. As for the John Burns book, I started the project when someone asked if the was an online database. If Mr. Burns' book is online, I'd love to look at it. Thanks, Wally, for the Zero information. BTW, I can't help with the prop. Sorry to hijack your thread.
  4. The 152 I flew had the pointed wheel pants and the downturned wingtips.
  5. Wally, I'm building a 1:32 scale database. I don't have that particular kit in it. Can you tell me the full title on the box, which version of the Zero, copyright date and maybe what markings are included? You can see what I've done to date over on Large Scale Planes. Thanks.
  6. While visually similar, the 172 was definitely larger in all dimensions and used a larger engine. I suppose you could build the 152 and populate a diorama with 1:35 figures to create a fairly convincing scene.
  7. If that means they're on your list to acquire, I can save you time and money. I'm not needing them immediately, you can fondle and photograph 'em as long as you don't drool all over 'em.
  8. Expert's Choice makes a set for the Texas ANG 111th FS/147th FG based at Ellington in the early '90s 75th Anniversary scheme. They flew the ADF while carrying the scheme. 1:32 and 1:48. Carried now by Bare Metal Foil people. RepliScale 485027 - standard scheme Expert's Choice 48-30 - 111th FIS/147th FIG Pretty much duplicates the RepliScale sheet. Expert's Choice 48-37 - 111th FIS 75th Anniversary Expert's Choice 32-4 - Same as 48-37. I have some photos of this scheme if you're interested. Greg, wanna take photos of the Expert's choice decals?
  9. I whole-heartedly concur. Absolute must for peeking under the skin.
  10. I've had excellent results with both Starship Modeler and CultTVMan. I bought Thomas Models stuff through CultTVMan.
  11. Wow! Much easier than piecing together Cutting Edge U-2 decals.
  12. Google is your friend. Search light Here's another view
  13. Are those scimitar blades spun fast than straight blades? Seems they would since the "sweep" delays shock build-up...
  14. About time! That Bono guy is a bit full of himself...
  15. No change since this was discussed last week...and the week before...and the week before that! I hate to be "one of those", but this board's search feature is wonderful as long as your criterion is longer than four characters.
  16. I have loved sci-fi since I first saw ST:TOS aired in 1966. I was twenty-one when BSG:TOS aired. Star Wars had hit the scene and sparked a resurgence in Sci-Fi. BSG made the airwaves and I was quite underwhelmed. The blatant Cold War parallels just weren't palatable to me and that kid and his Daggett p|ssed me off. The show was too clean, too neatly wrapped up, too upbeat for a civilization on the brink of extinction. The new BSG fixes everything I disliked about the old show. It's gritty, it's faithful to physics as their budget allows, it's developed much better. The kid was only in
  17. ST:TOS The rest are just pretenders. Can't stand Voyager, myself. B5 is good stuff. Ms. Christian can order me around ANY DAY. Just finished the 1st season of Battlestar Galactica. DAMN good stuff. On to season 2 hoping they don't fall into the same stale traps most long-running series do. Own all nine seasons of The X-Files. Yeah, baby!
  18. IIRC (very iffy proposition!), Monogram altered the Case XX molds to make Case X wings. Thus, never again will Monogram issue Case XX wings.
  19. "Missionized"? Good gravy, when will the madness stop?!
  20. Thank you, Graham. I will have to locate that book. The magazine article mentioned a book listing RAF aces with merely a footnote about Wade, since he was American. Now for something completely different: After reading The X-Planes, it makes me wonder why thick trailing edges don't contribute anything good to subsonic bahavio(u)r. Works like a champ at very high speed, presumably to enhance the desired aerodynamic center of pressure.
  21. Lance V. Wade. Flew Hurricane Mk II in N. Africa before moving on to Spits. I first read of the man in Aviation History magazine and they had some decent info. For instance, he was flying Gleed's Mk Vb when he was shot down. Apparently his own was down for maintenance? He was wasn't injured and later flew over Italy. What I need is info on the Hurricane, such as which sub-mark, what squadron, plane code and "serial" number. All Google could find was he flew the Hurricane Mk II in North Africa. Thanks.
  22. I haven't opened my kit yet, it would be nice if Academy made the sponsons separate parts. Thanks for the photo.
  23. Another Point-One Percenter, here. See my Christmas list.
  24. As I don't yet have reference books, what version of the CH-46 would have been in service in the mid-60s? Am I aiming at my foot if I try to build a 'Nam Frog with the current Academy "E" kit? Thanks.
