Martin Baker Mk.5 seat in early Phantoms. Details needed.
asvennevik replied to f4h1phantom's topic in Jet Modeling
Check seatejectcolor.com. Depending on which exact version of the mk.5 you need you may be in luck. There are 5's from neomega, Pavla and airwaves. Anders -
Have a look at http://eightlake.smugmug.com/Airplanes/USA...122177135_BKbSS They all seem to be the hard wing 6-3 with the wing fence. Anders

Well Hasegawa you are about to lose another customer!!
asvennevik replied to Two Mikes's topic in General Discussion
Is this Hasegawa's fault, or that of the US importer? $159.99 is two to three times the price of the Hasegawa Sea Kings available from Hannants. Anders -

I polish Gunze and Vallejo ModelAir arylics. I use a normal paper napkin, the result is a mirror shine gloss finish. I place decals directly on the paint, no gloss clear coat. Anders

This is from my fading memory and may not be 100% correct. The MiG-15 cockpit interior colour depends on where it was built. Soviet 15s were a medium grey. Czeckoslovak built 15s cockpits were a darker grey with a bluish tinge. Chinese 15s were similar to the Soviet ones but with a slightly greenish tinge. Googling should provide some pictures. The MiG-15 at the Swedish Airforce museum is a Czechoslovak aircraft. Anders

Brilliant, thank you. In addition: The "F-40" was fitted or retrofitted to other Sabres. The F-35s as supplied to the RNoAF (Norwegian airforce) had the "F-40" wing, as did some/all the F-86F Sabres supplied to Pakistan. The F-86K was also fitted/retrofitted with the "F-40" wing. The first F-86Ks had the original short chord wing if I remember correctly. Anders

I have only a single bottle of Lifecolor, bought abroad as they are not available here. In my opinion excellent paint. I thinned it a lot with tap water and sprayed at fairly high pressure (25psi/1.8 bar) on bare plastic. Beautiful even coat that stuck like glue, I tried Scotch tape as masking tape. The paint can be buffed with a paper tissue or cotton cloth to a high gloss sheen eliminating the need for Future. Anders

This was discussed some time ago. The conclusion then was the vast majority of SAAF Sabres in Korea were early version with the slatted wing, as shown in the photo linked in a posting above. A few were later model -30, without the slat and with a wing fence Anders

Are your kit decals Academy's own? I am sure that they are Cartograph, now one of the best there are. You should have no problems with them. I don't think Carpena's are any better quality wise. I seem to remember the French manufacturer making an F-8P sheet. Anders

Somebody here at IPMS Stockholm did a test of Xtracrylix. Best results were with plain tap water, followed by X's own thinner. Alcohol is not recommended, risks turning the paint into chewing gum, which may be what you are experiencing. Anders

There are two completely different set of blue Spitfires on Malta. The first are those delivered via the USS Wasp. If orders (1) were given before Wasp sailed that the Spitfires were to be repainted blue it seems, at least to me, fairly logical that they also may have loaded some tins of RAF paints. It is also possible US paints were used. On the other hand if someone decided after if sailed to repaint the Spitfires the only paints available would have been available. See also (2). Most of the Wasp Spitfires (20% or so of those delivered during the siege) crashed or were shot down within day

Buy the H&S Infinity. I have the two in one version. It sprays acrylics beautifully with the 0.15mm needle, the comment in the posting above is nonsense in my opinion. Using, for example, Gunze thinned with alcohol or Vallejo thinned with tap water it covers quickly and completely in one coat. The Infinity will give you a line finer than 1.5mm, again with practice and a good compressor. I can't comment on the Iwatas or the Evolution, save to say modelling friends who have the Infinity, and an Evolution or Iwata say the Infinity is a much better airbrush. The Iwata's 0.3mm nozzle seems

Question is if the Tamiya is the best. Best detailed, but maybe not no.1 in outline accuracy. See http://www.aircraftresourcecenter.com/Gal1...Sargent/00.shtm. I have to agree with the builder. To me the Tamiya is a bit too compact and heavy to a P-51D, the Hasegawa in my opinion better portrays the look and feel of a P-51D. As for Allison powered Mustangs the Academey is the best, no other comes close. The Academy P-51B/C seems to be a clone of the Hasegawa. Both have their faults, such as the leading edge extension (which is wrong, BUT IS NOT A D WING!!!!). Both are far better than the ot

A friend asked me to pass on the link to his site with a lot of Viggen photos. They are at http://www.pixbox.se/usr_show_id112964_page0_order1.html Anders
