Sean dont let hand painting put you off doing an sea scheme. I did the big monogram 1/48 F-105G in SEA and I hand paint everything. The best way I have found with SEA is to paint the tan first in the rough area it will go and then mask the other colours, light green and then the dark. When you pull the masking of you will have a ridge where the mask was. After the paint has fully cured you can feather this in with some 1200 or plus wet and dry (careful!!) and it looks really good. Here is the thud! this is just after the decals before it was matt coated. Julien

the ones which came with the monogram AV8B were pretty good, in fact all round the monogram stuff seems to be winners. In metal / PE the flight path ones ones come out really good and are in fact little models in them selves, take a bit to make but well worth it. Julien

Superscale did a sheet in 1/48th for the Illinois ANG sheet number SS480504 Not bad when finished I used it on my ADF Conversion of the hasegawa kit. Julien

Yes, how does he do it. I ordered some decals from him and 6 days later they are with me in the UK! He even gave me a refund as the postage was less than orginally quoted. Now thats what I call service :D Julien

With some work, a black box cockpit and some decals the EF-111 can make into as good a model as the academey kit. Just needs some work. Julien

Remember it, I have one in my stash! B) I get it out every now and again and then pray to the hasegawa gods for their phantoms. I did build the Revell 1/32 F-4 when I was a kid, mother bless her got it for me fro xmas along with all the right paints. Got built painted and played with in a whole weekend :D Julien

Faiey Seafox finished, riggin was a bit of bother but turned out nice. Humbrol paint used with xtracrylix matt varnish on top. Fun build Julien

I hand brush and mask and have had this problem. Ist go over with a new knife blade to remove the worst, then wet sand with very fine grit and I mean start at 1200 and work down. I normall wet sand hand painted finishes anyway as makes them look really smooth. Just remember wait till the paint has fully gone off and dont get to over enthusiastic! Julien

As much as I like Airbus Aircraft (being a European and all that) its good news for Boeing as we need at least 2 major commercial Airline manufactures to give some kind of competition to the market. This actually makes sense the 787 would fit much better into how Quantas operate. Does not harm things that they can show in country benefits either. Looks a nice aircraft to boot! Julien

I thought the AIM-54 was an a product of merging Hughes GAR-9 and the Navys Bendix AAM-10 Eagle? not subject to a competition. Julien

Murph I know we cant keep these things for ever, however instead of replacing them with new build or another weapon the politicians just say we dont need the capability anymore. In the case of the UK MOD this is right up untill the time we actually need them. Julien

I did not realise theyhad dropped the sea eagle from the Tornado inventory. As to not needing it we wont right up untill the time we suddenly do and then someone says "damn wish we still had the Sea Eagle" Julien

Sea eagle is the current antiship missile to be used by Tornado GR4's. Julien
