  1. Thanks for the clarification. I had heard otherwise-but the person may have been talking about the weapons in the HB kit, so hence my uncertainty.
  2. Q#1: the 'fairing' or 'wing bumps' is for the wider tires used on the G-10. According to Squadron's Messerschmitt Bf 109 in Action Part 2 on page 47. Q#2: Don't know. Although quite a few people use RLM 66, so possibly on side walls? Q#3:Two variations on page 48 of above book. A/- attach to vertical mast if aircraft has one. B/- through loop antenna into fuselage if no vertical mast on aircraft. So I hope the above helps.
  3. OK The google translator app really didn't help with the Korean blog?! Personally I've always liked the Aussie 'Vark's in the grey scheme. (L.M. is currently out of stock on the H.B. kit.) Actually waiting to see the pros/cons of the H.B. Vs Aca. kits in F-111C guise. So far, all I know is that the AGM in the Aca. release possibly isn't used by Australia? (tried search for Hobby Boss F-111C and 1st thread was Phantom's Hornet comparison?! ) Since their are "issues" with either manufacturer's kit (based on 'A' reviews), for me it will most likely come down to price/availability of either
  4. Thanks to a brisk turnout in the vending area, I'm pretty much 'sold out'. Remaining kits aren't worth my time trying to 'move' till next show. Thanks again to all those who attended the LPMS 2010 show.
  5. For those attending the London Ontario Show on Sat. Oct 2, 2010.... Here is a list of kits I'll be selling at show. (May add more) Listed by price-low to 'high'. Kits are either 1/35 armour or 1/48 aircraft unless noted. No shipping available, (shipping cost is more than the kit price)- so interested parties check out club sale table. Kits combined with etch and/or a.m. decals will stay combined. So if you want the etch/decals, you get the kit too. $2.00 selection: Tam. U.S. Tankers Aca. S.K. Tankers Esci. Green Devils DML. W.G. 6. Hi Everyone Tried searching the 'net' and the forums here, but few results. Basically I'm interested in modelling some 1/48 F-4J's in the markings of these 2 squadrons (VF-142/VF-143) as deployed aboard the USS Constellation in early 1970. The aircraft are illustrated in Osprey's US Navy F-4 Phantom II Mig Killers 1965-1970. (The previous deployments were with F-4B's ) I'm wondering if any AM decal company has done these two squadrons in a 1/48 sheet? I've checked Flightdecs and the rest of the .net' search provided a lot of Tomcat decals. This Wikipedia page has a good photo of the
  7. Very nice! Progress on my Hertz 'stang is stalled, but it will get finished! BTW, picked up the new Revell '09 Challenger (kit #85-4220) at LHS last week. It was cheaper than the AMT kit(s) and has 109 pc. The fact that it has the SRT Hemi engine & two different wheel styles, also gave it the edge over the AMT offering. Now to patiently wait for a '10 Camaro kit!
  8. Well put. I was under the impression (awhile ago now) that the Mig 21's were to be new moulds, but if they are just modified Academy kits, then I'll finsih my stash of Mig 21's! Have been hoping for a new F-4B/N/C/D with recessed lines & better cockpit interior (like the Ed '110's/190's), but since I also have at least 10 Has. Phantoms, maybe I should build them first! lol. Hmmmm. I believe you guys just saved me some money!
  9. Look forward to the finished build. I'm puttering around with the '06 Shelby GT-H kit myself-makes for a nice break from my A-10 build.
  10. Rarely see any built-at least around my neighbourhood! Check out these websites: http://www.go2war2.nl/artikel/1014/60-cm-M...-040-en-041.htm and http://www.one35th.com/morser/karl_hist.htm You might be further ahead, enquiring at Track Link or Missing Lynx and Armorama which all have dedicated 'tread heads'. 11. They did Flight of the Intruder years ago. Believe it was CGI flight scenes, but not bad. The low level shots over the beach was good IMHO. The 'downtown' Hanoi attack was so-so, but Hollywood rarely tries for authentic representation of 'period' weapon systems. Still not the same as seeing either an A-6 or EA-6 fly tho. Was lucky to see Prowlers fly at the old London Air Show-the noise level alone had most spectators grinning ear to ear-while they covered them of course!
  12. Well I did a quick Yahoo web search. (Google will work too ) And there are a lot of possible reference sites. However this website has(had) un-restored U.S. Halftracks for sale. Scroll through all the photos-some appear 'silver', others with faded black/metal/rust and at least one has overspray of O.D.: http://www.halftracks.com/august_2004/8-21-04_sold.htm A M16 engine: http://www.halftracks.com/august_2004/R_M16A1_white_19.jpg Looking at the photos, it would appear that rebuilds also could affect engine colour. Personally-since I have DML's M2A1 on the go-I would utilise a combin

I'm stalled on this same kit. Mainly because I've misplaced the pioneer tools & machine gun for top of turret.! (A couple of years ago now! ) It's 90% finished though, just need to find the missing parts & weather it. The tiger finish apparently utilises white/black/yellow-orange with individual tank number in white. Speculation is the only info I've found re: colours, so I went with the following: Flat White (Tamiya) U.S. Orange-Yellow ANA 614 (Aeromaster) Flat Black (Tamiya) For what it's worth, I base coated turret, 90mm & 40% of hull with the white. Masked the tiger
  14. Nice work on the Italeri kit! I have a couple of the Italeri armoured car kits in my stash. Everyone is raving about the DML ones, but your build illustrates that the old Italeri kits can still look good.
  15. Finally finished my F-4C Mich ANG from the 2007 Reserve Group Build! Full build thread: http://www.arcforums.com/forums/air/index....108272&st=0 Completed kit:
  16. Well this build only took 2 yrs! The actual painting, decalling & finishing turned into a multitude of little irritations, so much, that it was put aside till I decided what to do. The decals were printed in 1989, so now approx. 20 yrs. old & are Hasegawa, so they either fell apart or the adhesive 'yellowing' became very noticable. Particularly on the tail markings! Quite a few of the stenciling fell apart, so I decided to only utilise main markings. One ejection triangle fell off after drying anyway. I looked for replacement decals, but decided against it, after further mishaps o
  17. Well this helps in my build. However, it would be nice to utilise a slightly different payload than Winnie may use, so did the BLU-27 Napalm ever get used in DS?
  18. Which thread? I went to other forum link Flankerman posted earlier in this thread, and attempted to look through 12 pages of what appears to be a seriously degenerated thread, more people 'spewing' off than anything else. However I did read this at site showing debreif: http://www.flightglobal.com/cgi-bin/mt/mt-...amp;blog_id=108 Appears to be a polarization on the JSF still. Personally, I'm just curious about it, since Canada/Australia/U.K. are all invested in the program.
  19. Interesting video's, but would have been even more interesting, had he continued by answering the F-35 question.
  20. Canucks can't enter a proper postal code either, you can only enter 'numbers' for ZipCode. However, I still finished the survey & suggested a 1/48 Halifax. I consider it to be poorly represented in the hobby & since they did a 1/48 Lancaster.....
  21. Just finished the other day: MPM's Fw.-189 A1 Some parts were not useable due to mold shift/flash. OOB with what was useable.
