Been working on this StannArts Tauntaun kit. Got some more details and snow and ice effects but getting closer.

If I recall correctly, the files are available for free download, or at least they were directly from the Smithsonian. I think I downloaded all of them somewhere.

1/72 2001 PanAm Space Clipper 29” Long

Just for fantastical discussion, it could be that since there doesn't appear to be any other entry/exit hatches, that it would be used as a cargo hatch as well as a entry for people. Since we don't know and it's not shown, in my imagination I could envision this being an outer hatch with different pathways behind it to go to either the cockpit, the passenger area, or to the cargo areas. Just a thought. but again, it's all fantasy speculation. Which is fun! Bill -
So insinuating a crash was caused by a brainless "rich" pilot without all evidence is NOT harsh BUT suggesting that before making such judgement one might want to wait for evidence instead of tarnishing a fellow pilot's name is harsh? Wow, you guys never fail to entertain here. Well, I'll apologize if I hurt someone's feelings with such harsh comments. That was not my intention at all. I simply felt the deceased pilots deserved at least a little more respect than rush judgements. I would have thought if anyone here, pilots would have understood that. I guess I was wrong. Sorry.

NTSB Releases Preliminary Report On Dallas Airshow Crash (msn.com) In case anyone is interested in the truth and not premature speculations.

And again I thank you for your service. But I stand by my view that your statement was extremely judgmental and completely out of line. You may feel differently and I respect that. But I feel your statement issued before any facts have been shown says a lot more about you than it does about the pilots involved in the incident. But regardless, have a blessed day sir. Bill

RIP To those involved. Here's a little background on the P-63 Pilot. Not some rookie pilot to be sure. https://www.toratoratora.com/pilots-bio/craig-hutain

His hours of service flying fast jets is very much appreciated and I respect his experience. But that fact also makes his statement all the more disappointing. Unless he was there in the situation, I feel most pilots would rather hold out posting such an opinion on a public forum before any facts are known and not knowingly or unwittingly tarnish the names of others in the profession. It's one to thing to make a general supposition such as "It appears this may be a pilot error from what's seen so far" Or "Perhaps X, Y, Z didn't happen...." etc. But to make a blanket statement such as it's just

Sorry, but this is an extremely judgmental and VERY ignorant statement. These "individuals" are trained pilots with tons of hours. How about you keep the armchair piloting to yourself.

1/18 LLRV - WIP (and 1/24 3D-printed model)

WOW! That should NOT work. Ya' must have some kind of voodoo working for ya. If I'd tried that I'd likely end up having to change the FEP for sure. Good job! -

Incredible work! Your prints are turning out perfect. i made some blades kind of similar to those for my Millennium Falcon model and had the same issue. What I finally ended up doing was using a thin cutting wheel in a rotary tool and cutting the supports at the raft at a slow speed and then breaking off like you did. Might be a bit faster for ya one the next one. I'm just blown away by this project. Bill -
I'm gonna have to go with the "it depends" answer. True, a good number of parts on the market now are being produced by liquid resin 3d printers, but that's still not always the case. Shapeways does offer parts that are still supported with wax and while yes they do say they "clean" the parts before shipping, as many can attests, their cleaning process isn't always so complete and the dreaded "wax ghost frost" still can pop up. I'd recommend getting in contact with who ever sold you the parts and finding out for sure what processes were used to print them. Also, even some FDM prints of certain

Very interesting question. I wonder if the change in tension occurred when they switched to Super Hornets. Which also could account for the looser formations. Bigger planes, not quite as agile, etc.... But I would like to hear the real answer.

And another beautiful job. Got kind of a Mad Max meets Star Wars walker look about it. Interesting and very well done.

Wow, beautiful work there! It's not my cup of tea subject-wise, but man it's awesome enough to make me consider that genre. Nice colors and the metallics are gorgeous. Thanks for posting!

Outstanding! REALLY great job on this. Which files are these from? I have the Gambody model that I haven't printed yet. Thanks for sharing! Bill

Thanks Gregg. Here's a 96% completed pic in front of a computer monitor back drop. The backdrop really helps sell it and distract from the flaws...some. -
Still got a ways to go, but I think it's looking ok-ish.

"You built that? You're braver than I thought!"🙂 Nice job on that hunk of junk. It would be interesting to see a smashup build with a star ship and this as it's saucer section. Might throw fans of both series in to convulsions, but would be pretty cool. Bill

Not completely about space arrangement, but sort of. One of the things I started doing with instructions is taking cell pics of them and then viewing on a tablet instead of keeping the paper at my desk. It's neater, takes up less room and you can zoom in and out as needed. (important for older eyes like mine) I've been meaning to get a swivel arm tablet/computer monitor mount above my desk for it as well to help keep it out of the way when I don't need, but ready for access. Also good for keeping reference photos close by to look at. Nice looking are you got to work with for sure!

I watched the new trailer and am a little less excited about it now. Not sure, just something about it is looking more over the top with some of the effects. Sure, I'll probably go see it because ANY chance to see real fighter jets on the big screen is worth checking out. But a lot of the scenes in the new trailer are just a little too hard to believe. (under the bridge, really had to do that cliche'?) Just my take.

Isn't the Shuttle ET and the SLS main core the same diameter or am I mistaken?
-
Just curious, has anyone looked at what it would take to maybe modify the 1/72 scale Space Shuttle Stack and create an SLS rocket? They share many of the same components but would still require quite a bit of scratch building. Could be a fun project for sure!

Not to mention the builder didn't clear coat over the "VMA-513" decals on the second plan in. That doesn't look real AT ALL! 🤣
