Heliman
Hi all, I'm Scott and I come from Taiwan. Finally, I found a very good modeling site to make me stay. I was stoped building model when I was 15. After 25 years I start to building model again. This is what I did on these days for CH-53E. Any comment welcome and forgive my bad english. Thanks. Heliman
These are what I did yesterday. The cockpit and cabin almost done but not perfect yet. So, can anyone give me some suggestion and opinion to make this biggest bird looks better? The cabing floor I use flat aluminum for base coating, than use very thin flat blake to airbrush till it bit daraker but not heavely. than using #320 water sand parer to grind surface of floor lightly. until aluminum colour show up. I use oil wash for interior that not very good skill for me. can anyone point me? I use flat black to airbrush on exhaust to simulat smoke fx. it more like inuse. Thanks for watching. Scott :) Edited May 16, 2012 by Heliman

shark 64
Looks good. I would add seatbelts in the cockpit. Nothing to say about your cockpit work otherwise, looks good from here. Oliver

Nothing to say about your cockpit work otherwise, looks good from here. @Oliver, I agree your opinion without seatbelts the cockpit look like unexciting. because I don't have PE set, so I will made one for the cockpit. Heliman
Hi all, The pics as below were what I did and the rivet job totally completed also. I scraped the edge of exhaust pipe and rear of engine cover a bit thinned. Does it look better then before? I wont useing parts #C63, C64 so I insert 0.1mm plate for air intake. Thanks for watching. I don't how to call this tube, but it was compareed from real CH-53E pics Rotorhead were hard jobs too. it's spent me all day long. Finally, I'm so happy when rotorhead were done. Tail rotor finished, too. Thanks for watching and have a nice day! Scott Edited May 29, 2012 by Heliman

Scott Amazing work on the nose area and rotor head!!!!! If memory serves me correctly, that tube is for the fuel dump system. There was a small pump in the fuel cells in the sponsons, and when selected the pump would dump fuel overboard for emergencies or to lighten the helicopter if needed. And while in forward flight the fuel would just stream out the end of those tubes. I intend on adding those to my build as well.... Oh and again, amazing work on your cockpit and especially the backside of that instrument panel!!!
Youngtiger1
That rotor head is totally of the hock. I've couple of these kits in the stash and I hope mine will come out half as good and I'll be happy ;)
Heliman
Hi guys, I was finished landing gear and FLIR system and installed air intake on fuse for temporaries. @xmh53wrench, Thank you for your info. now I knew that. @Youngtiger1, Everyone can build model as good as it gets, just needs patience, enthusiasm, knowledge and a kind sense of humor. :) Any comment are welcome and thanks for watching. :) Scott Edited June 4, 2012 by Heliman
Heliman
Hi guys, Some pics update. I made 3 FLIR wire connectors. I don't have PE set, so I added brass mesh for tail screen. Is this tail rotor sensor? I don't know how to call it. This bird to be close to done, I prepare to coating later today. I have a question is shall I sanding before or after primer? Thanks for watching. :) Scott Edited June 4, 2012 by Heliman
shark 64
Everyone has their way of doing that step. I usually do a light sanding on the obvious parts that stand out(dont forget to cover clear parts first) then I do a light primer to check for flaws I missed and fix them. Once all my flaws are cleaned up and smooth I reprime the areas that need to be. Good luck and I am sure you will hear from other talented modelers on this site about their ways.Thats why this site is so cool you can get many tips. Oliver
