Laurent
I'm no Su-7 expert but one of you may be. Is the BMK externally different from the BM ?
Diego
I'm no Su-7 expert but one of you may be. Is the BMK externally different from the BM ? Roughly: - The Su-7 BM was the first operational version. - The Su-7 BMK had a brake chute fairing under the tail (and a rear view mirror on the top of the canopy). - The Su-7 BKL had an undercarriage equipped with additional skis for operations from grass surfaces Bien cordialement Diego Edited September 11, 2012 by Diego
Ryan Hothersall
I'm very interested in this. Will be busy hunting this one down. The more Su-7s the better.

Damn. Nothing "exotic" can be done then. Only Soviet or Warsaw Pact birds. Unless the sprues contain the brake chute fairing.
ChernayaAkula
^ According to Hobbyterra, there will be both a Su-7BK (LINK) and a Su-7BM (LINK).

The BMK had a bigger nosewheel than the BM - with a corresponding bulged nosewheel door. Su-7B..... Su-7BM - addition of external ducts on upper fuselage..... Su-7BMK - bigger nosewheel + brake parachute fairing at base of fin..... Su-7BKL - skis on mainwheels..... You could always do the one-off Su-7 equipped with skis only.... I've wanted to model the Algerian bird from Diego's Hi Decal sheet for a long time ;0) Fred K.

digit
Sprue shots at modelsua page: http://modelsua.com/Sukhoi-Su-7-BM-1-72-Modelsvit-72001.html There is a definite short run feel but the parts look pretty nice to me, especially the canopy. Three external fuel tanks and an IAB-500 for armament.
Berkut
I don't know, looks fairly nice, panel lines for instance are nice and crisp.
John Thompson
Sweet! Go, Modelsvit! Maybe next you can downscale that 1/48 Yak-1b to 1/72! John

Laurent
Another review. http://scalemodels.r...-72-su-7bm.html Thanks ! smooth IPs but the detailing of the cockpit walls look nice. It seems likely that the guy who made the master is the one who made the masters for the Amodel Su-9/11. Seat and cockpit side + wheel wheel walls suggest this (have a look at the photos in this French Su-9 review). Edited September 16, 2012 by Laurent
Berkut
Probably same guy that did Yak-1B and Amodel kits, his "nick" is Master44 iirc.
Laurent
Probably same guy that did Yak-1B and Amodel kits, his "nick" is Master44 iirc. I'd say that "Master 44" is some kind of cooperative company that tools the molds but that the masters are made by different guys (one or several WW2 guys, one of several jet guys). It would be nice to clarify what's the "Master 44" thing. Is there anything about that in Russian forums ?
