Koen L
Nice shots! Your first one is a 235 however.
Kevan Vogler
pacheco: I had no idea about the Broplan kit, thanks for the heads up, though 1/144 would be better for me. Koen L: Thanks for correcting me on the 235. I'll leave it up anyway for the sake of family resemblance.
Pete
So, why not make it a combined 235/295 topic then? Here's a C.235 from the Moroccan Airforce, pic taken at Volkel airbase this June: And a Polish AF C.295, at the same event: Hope to see some more pics.
C-130CrewChief
Looks like a C-27. Is it this? Curt
Pete
Looks like a C-27.Is it this? Curt Your pic is indeed a C-27. A C-27J to be precise, which is a further development of the Italian designed C-27A (Alenia G.222 is the original designation) with C-130J avionics and engines etc. The C.235 is a Spanish design, produced by CASA in Spain and the C.295 is a strechted, modernised version of it. Alternative 4
I saw a French one at the start of the year. I would love to build it just for the weathering effects. It was the coolest I've seen
Kevan Vogler
Pete: the 235 is fair game here! Curt: The CASA 295 and C-27 do bear a resemblance as they are built for the same reasons and are actually in competition with each other for customers. The Czech airforce chose the 295 to replace the An-26 after quite lengthy deiberations between the 295 and the C-27. Last I heard, Canada was still deciding between the 295 and the C-27 for a CC-115 Buffalo replacement. Either aircraft would look super cool in Canada's yellow and red SAR scheme. Kevan Vogler
Yes, she does have very nice lines for a "trash hauler" doesn't she? One thing I can't get over is how small the vertical fin looks in relation to the rest of the plane, particularly how narrow the chord is.
Andre
One thing I can't get over is how small the vertical fin looks in relation to the rest of the plane, particularly how narrow the chord is. Well, since it is farther back than on, say, a C-130 it has more momentum, so it can be smaller. Cheers, Andre
