  1. There are a lot of military vehicles available in 1:87, mostly those which were used by the East German forces. So a Hind is unsurprising.
  2. Hajo - if you edit those picture links to remove the "_s" right before the jpg, the pictures will show up bigger.
  3. I think a few years ago I saw someone building an Icelandic Catalina... although it might be that I just thought it would be a nifty subject to build! Looking good so far with this build!
  4. I think that is a super idea! With a model railway there are so many different aspects of modelling she's sure to find something that really catches her interest, be it the building or the scenery or whatever!
  5. Looking super! I did this in 1/72 with the Hobby Boss kit.
  6. Loving this! Great job getting her into building. Here's hoping it stays with her for life! :)
  7. Looking forward to seeing this done. Icelandic subjects are exceedingly rare.
  8. Eeesh, Print Scale. I used their set of F-4 stencils and... well, let's say I decided instead to scrounge around for "good enough" decals from other sheets. I was not pleased, it was not a nice sheet to work with at all. Maybe they've improved since, but until I hear otherwise, I'd recommend against their decals.
  9. Absinthe, primarily. I have 5 different Swiss and French absinthes in my cabinet right now. On special occasions, VEP chartreuse or one of the nicer wines in my stock (pulling a 1996 Chateau Beaumont out for a birthday dinner this weekend. I'm saving my 2000 Smith Haut-Lafitte for my 40th! ;) ). But for the sort of everyday relax-after-work thing, if not a glass of one of my lower-end absinthes, it'll be a nice dry cider, and if just out clubbing with some friends, usually a gin and tonic.
  10. I'm gonna give this a bump because this is *far* too grand an idea not to happen! Only thing will be deciding what to build, I've got several options for Japanese and Korean F-4s, and then there are Burmese, Malaysian and North Korean Fulcrums...
  11. The first thing to be cut should be the politicians' salaries. I've long had the idea that every politician's salary - regardless of rank or position - should be equivalent to the national per capita GDP. So if they make things go well, with a strong economy and a high per capita GDP, they'll make more; if they balls things up, wrecking the economy, etc, they'll make less. So, incentive for them to do the smart things. Another benefit is that since that'd only be a salary basically equivalent to the national average yearly income, you'd likely only attract those who actually want to do good f
  12. This was an awful thing to wake up to. I've off and on had tears in my eyes most of the day. Spock meant a lot to me, and Mr. Nimoy was a fantastic person, too, away from the acting. Captain Kirk's line at Spock's funeral is probably very fitting now: "Of my friend I can say this. Of all the souls I've met, his was the most... human."
  13. Objectively? Yeah, I agree. The Montreal media are kinda ridiculous. But for my part? I was happy and thought they did the right thing trading Halak and keeping Price, and I still think so. We'll see how the rest of the season goes, though! One thing is for sure, though: 25 before 14!
  14. Pffahaha. :D I have my faith in Jesus Price.
  15. Yes, I'm quite aware that I was 17 the last time the Habs (or any Canadian team) won the Cup. Good thing I'm turning 17 again this year. ;)
  16. It is the sacred duty of every non-Southern Ontarian to ridicule the Leafs. :)
  17. More stuff to envy... ;)
  18. tosouthern66 - thank you for suggesting this! I'd be all over this GB too, and if it's later in the year, I'd be happy to help with the mod duties, too.
