  1. I'm glad I am not the only narcissist here..... Oh, well, was THAT all????????
  2. :woot.gif: :woot.gif: My life can now resume again, now that ARC is back!!!! Was I the only one who felt a great emptiness? Anybody care to let us know what happened?
  3. Wow, really really great seeing this type of post for a person that so deserves all of our thanks. There arent enough THANK YOUs to return everyting that HOLMSIE gives without ever asking anything in return. I know I could strive to be that type of person, but know I will fall extremely short of the bar that has been set by HOLMES. I hope someday to repay just a tiny bit of the kindness that has been shown to me......glad to hear props are not only for the propulsion of a once stationary object, stationary HOLMES is certainly not. And certainly well deserving of all of our "PROPer respect"
  4. Absolutely amazing build, I personally love the lack of weathering.....ALL P-51s were new at some point, and nearly all that are flying today are taken care of better than most our children... Sorry bout the frustration with the paint, I am sure you were one post shy of reading "dont use alclad's basecoat".... In about a week or two, you will see it sitting sadly in the corner, and pick it up and do what's required to get it RIGHT! I have had a few of these. Great start and welcome back to the dark side, although not the length of time you have been away, I am in the same boat, and lovin
  5. Wow good wheel wells sure make a huge difference, Nice work, and great paint link.
  6. Looks INCREDIBLE!!!! Your weathering and EAPS are outstanding....along with the rest of the build, very nicely done!! edit: Ok, so I just got home to see this on my laptop, and not on my phone as earlier...... INCREDIBLE WAS AN UNDERSTATEMENT....thats one dirty hog, great job
  7. Here is one I have.....too much damn typing though....
  8. Just good old Testors 1147 Black (little bottle)..... I "BRUSHED" yes with a brush, this on about 10 years ago, no clear yet or anything, flowed great, no brush strokes.....closest thing I have seen to the old Dupont Centari 99 Black automotive paint, in 1:1 pic doesnt really do it justice ...And this is same stuff as well, brushed on...
  9. This is from another site.....but I have asked how he did his walkways, hope he divulges. clicky They are just perfect!!
  10. LOL, nice... I painted a giant Playboy Bunny logo on our main gearbox drip pan on my Pave Low back in the 80s
  11. OK......stupid question time..... Will the GB be limited to only aircraft? And the same goes if it in fact becomes a section of its own?
  12. I absolutely agree with you BIG, This would be great, I personally have a couple of projects either started or in the planning stages, that would fit right in, and if it was a permanent section, I have a few already built models that fall into this category. Either way, count me in!!!!
  13. I tried taking some pics outside, still not great, but better....
  14. Wow, I thought I was the only one..... My Tomy 1/32 P-51 nmf racer, all painted up, pics taken and posted, only to realize that I had painted/decaled the numbers on the wings for racing around a course turning right.......DOH!!!! I was heart broken, but managed to peel up the number decals and move them....not a happy camper
  15. I have no idea if this is wayyyy off topic for here, but....I was going through some old digital photo files and found some pics of a couple of balsa builds I did about 10 years ago. A few build photos were there as well. I still have the boats in a cabinet, they have held up pretty good. The runabout is a scale model of a 14' plywood boat that we have that will some day be restored to how the model looks. The cabin cruiser is of my own design, but loosely based on a Glen-L kit boat and would scale out to 16'. I have no idea what scale I did them in, but I did all the lofting myself....th
  16. delete please, dup post :(
  17. Too cool, thanks for the info....when are model companies going to start offering parts packs again....model hot rodders could never have too many 32 grills, 3 duece carbs for flatheads, dropped front axles, and now the wide 5 wheels and caps from this kit.......
  18. Very very very nice car, its a crying shame this didnt come with the what Subaru is truly known for....AWD, and left the RWD to Toyota and Scion. They claim not enough room for the AWD parts. But again, VERY NICE CAR, CONGRATS!!!! P.S. I would claim mid-life-crisis and trade in the wife's 05 Legacy GT and its huffed 300hp on one of these had it had AWD
  19. This too is a really nice build, and the scratch building you have done is great. Just curious, are the hub caps two pieces, or one piece and you have painted the outer portion green, assuming they are not part of the rim. I think I need to get me one of these kits, great looking model. Oh, and your paint work is perfect, just the right amount of sheen for 1937.
  20. Really amazing build!!!!! That decking is just great looking!!
  21. Well Bigasshammm, thanks for the invite, I probably wont participate completely till after September, but I have this, so I might as well toss it into the frey... .....and if I find the rest of my Grant King Sprinter, I will modify it to do the Johnny Rutherford/Meskowski dirt sprinter.
  22. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ WHAT HOLMES SAID!!!!! Amazing!
  23. Oh, and here is one to get your blood pumping....I almost pulled this race off....I am the red/white #21
  24. Hey guys, I have been crazy building Mustangs (the P-51 type) as of late, but a friend told me not to overlook this section of this site. I like what I see so far, great builds. Here are a few pics of stuff I built about 10 years or so ago, still have them, awaiting a shelf.... And a quick vid of what I did for fun back then as well. I have had a blast on this site sharing and learning, and hope to continue in the Auto section as well. And I built this (and still have it) nearly 30 years ago... And now the full size fun...
