  1. Today I was lucky to receive, according to the managing director of AMK, the first full production kit of the #88002 L.29 Delfin in 1:48. I am not a dedicated L.29 Delfin expert, but at first glance I am satisfied with the kit. Now, I am happy to show you some pictures of the box´content.
  2. Hello Take a look at H&S new lightweight airbrush. http://www.harder-airbrush.eu/evolution/ I will give it a try next year to see if less weight really is an improvement for painting models. If it is having the same characteristics as the legacy Evos and Infinities, it should be a winner. Greetings Christian
  3. Hello With their excellent MIG-29 kits in 1:48, G.W.H. has set a new mark in the quality of jet kits. Which release would you like to see from them next? Here are my three favourites: 1. McDonnell Douglas F-4E late version. With automatic SLATS, TISEO and ARN-101. More variants, like the F-4F and -G are possible. 2. Dassault Mirage IIIE Plenty of versions and subversions adapted for the needs of numerous operators, like Mirage IIIR, -5F/BA and -IIIO, to name but a few. 3. Mikoyan MiG-23BN Not kitted before in 1:48. Interesting looking airplane. Many different camouflage schem
  4. The release is rescheduled for Spring 2014.
  5. I heard a rumour, that a chinese firm apparently will announce a "surprise" kit in 1:48 this month, but it is not a Mirage IIIE, unfortunately!
  6. Hello Some rumours of new 1:48 Mirage IIIE were around last year, but where are all those kits? - Must Have: Their next project is a 1:48 A-26, no sign of a Mirage IIIE - AMK: Fouga Magister and MIG-31 are anounced, but no hint of a new Mirage IIIE - High Planes: May be the most likely candidate, but no official announcement has been done yet - Pilot Replicas: Still announced on their webpage since last year, but nothing saw the light of the day until now Come on, we need a quality of this iconic Cold War jet soon, which is totally overlooked until now! Greetings Christian
  7. What I have heard is, that Kinetic has rescheduled the release for July/ August due to some corrections and refinements on the moulds. The Belgian/ French and Canadian versions should be first, while the Luftwaffe Alpha Jet apparently will be released under a different new label.
  8. Hello For a future modelling project I am looking for detail photos of the Royal Netherlands Air Force NF-5A. Especially photos of the cockpit are welcome. Greetings Christian
  9. This is one of the most interesting model show previews I have ever seen! Here in Germany, the word already has gotten around that this show is a real winner and actually a must to go, if not the long travelling distance would be. For now, I am looking forward to the actual Mosonmagyarovar 2013 show report and making plans to attend next year, ... really!
  10. It seems, that the kit is quite popular. This fuels my hopes, that GWH will continue with popular jet types. Can´t wait for tomorrow! Greetings Christian
  11. For Polish AF MIG-29 I can recommend this: http://zabza.info/mdl_res/MiG-29/2_features_id.html
  12. One or a combination of these. You posted "We I'm not interested in this." May be a typo which led to a misinterpretation from me. IMHO, we should see the relation of a (minor) error by the manufacturer to the whole completed model including painting and finishing. Some of the excitely criticized errors are often not or not significantly striking the overall appearance of the model, or are easily fixed. To me, some small errors of kits are blown up too often and good things concealed. It is nice when errors are mentioned and shown how these can be remedied, but this should not led to a d
  13. Hello Laurent As far as I know is our hobby aviation modelling, isn´t it? So first of all, a real expert in modelling is in my opinion someone who actually build models and is able to combine many different kinds of workmanship and knowledge about the original into a model. Of course, this does not exclude the endeavour for 100% shape accuracy, but if this is only 95% does not exclude him from being an expert. Why should reality being secondary to someone who builds a Kinetic Mirage? For the general accuracy of a completed model a nice representation of the surface and accurate finish i
  14. I hope your definition of an "expert" is not just limited to individuals, who are striving for 100% shape accuracy. What about modellers, who actually BUILD models, who can do a flawless surface detailing, who are able to apply an almost 100% perfect finish, but are satisfied with 98 or 99% shape accuracy? I am hoping, those are not belonging to the "good enoughers" in your eyes. Please don´t misunderstand me, my intention is not to discredit those, who find mistakes on models and giving hints how to correct in a constructive manner. I really appreciate this, like the very informative and hel
  15. My experiences with Italeri Acrylics are not too bad. The results of free hand sprying camouflage schemes can be excellent, when the right thinner is used. Yes, I mean the right thinner, what doesn´t automatically suggest the original Italeri thinner, what is crap due to my experience. The first successful thinner was the Acryl Airbrush Cleaner by Revell Germany. My ratio of colour to thinner was 1:3. It is absolutely necessary to stir the mix thouroughly. My HS Evolution with the 0.2mm needle is able to spray very fine lines with this brew. The next succesful attempt was with the original
  16. This is an absolute awesome looking kit! My mother asked me today, what present I wish from her this year. After I saw these picture, I exactly know what! Since 15 years, she gives me every Chistmas a nice kit. I hope the kit will be available timely for Christmas. Greetings Christian
  17. Exactly what I thought after I saw the first pics of the GWH MiG-29! The list of popular and good selling kits of 1:48 jets is very big. The newcomers Kitty Hawk and Pilot Replicas are bringing fresh wind in the scene and may be accelerate the release of new subjects. To me, newly tooled Su-17/22, MiG-23BN, Mirage IIIE/5 (scheduled by Pilot Replicas), Viggen and late series F-4E and -G would be highly appreciated.
  18. This is going to be a nice kit of an exciting aircraft! It should be a good seller for GWH and hopefully they will invest in other high quality jet model kits of Russian origin for the future. The to do list still is long! Anyway, it seems that 2013 will be a good year for the jet modellers!
  19. This is an excellent idea! Will the USAF Amarillo Masks be available in 1:32 and 48?
  20. Hello Please look here http://www.cybermodeler.com/news/pilot_replicas.shtml Interesting! Hopefully, a decent 1:48 Mirage IIIE will become true and a Saab 105Oe beside my Austrian Draken. Nice! Good luck to Pilot Replicas! Greetings Christian
  21. Currently I am building a MHRC MiG-23MF bort no.08 in 1:32 and I tested a lot of paints ond mixtures to achieve the destinctive tan and green. If found out, that Tamiya XF-59 is a good match for the tan, which can be filtered with a highly diluted mix of XF-59 and FS30219 and a drop of yellow. For the green I use a 2:1 mix of Italeri 4726AP and 4729AP (FS34079 and 34092), which also can be filtered with a misty coat of much thinned dark green, FS34079 for example. The FS34092 is adding that slight blueish hue, which is common on the Hungarian greens more or less. Especially the tan is quite c
  22. Yes, I also agree with the Mirage IIIE and the -5 as Kinetic´s following release in 1:48 (and/ or 1:32 may be?). A new Mirage F.1 seeries would be nice as well. Greetings Christian
  23. Yes, the 1:32 Trumpeter MIG-23MF nose is 4mm too long, as well as the area between the canopy windshield and the radome for an additional 1mm. To me, the -MF nose is looking a bit more sleek than the -ML one and lacks the slanted down look of the latter. The canopy indeed is too much bulged in the 1:32 kit, however it is also on the real plane, but more subtly. When the model canopy is displayed in open position, the bulge doesn´t appear that much. After looking to the sprue shots of the 1:48 kit, isn´t it that Trumpeter has flattened the bulge somewhat? Concerning the locating surface
