  1. I use a razor saw as well, but I keep everything soaked in water to keep the dust down.
  2. A chance to do some Bahraini F-5's? I've got some photos of RAFO aircraft if you need some references, plus a smattering of other aircraft from there.
  3. Every 2 or 3 months I completely strip my airbrush and put it through a small ultrasonic cleaner I bought at a model show. This brings the brush up nicely, almost like new.
  4. Thats a genuine picture. First saw it years before people had computers, let alone photoshop.
  5. B-57B or Brit Phantom. Just the idea of doing a RB-57F conversion in that scale is scary.
  6. I always liked Jet Pilot for their Russian aircraft.
  7. I've built several Anigrand kits. The most recent was a C-141 from them, I put a build on the USAF forum as below. http://www.usaf-sig.org/Forum/index.php?topic=197.0 The fuselage halves (or quarters) go together well. Super glue is useable, but I would recommend using 5 minute Araldite, and this is a must for the wing/ fuselage joints. I did a major rework on the undercarriage as it wasn't accurate, but that's not necessary depending on the level you want to do. I used squadron green stuff for filler and that worked OK. Try building a small kit first to get a feel of it. They can come ou
  8. I found this on Wiki. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:F-4_Phan...ier_landing.jpg Apologies if the direct link is not acceptable.
  9. First off, at the back of the brush, unscrew the cover, and inside is the needle, held in place by a locking mechanism. Undo the locking mechanism and pull the needle ot SLIGHTLY and tighten it up again. This should allow a bit more paint through. Also check the air pressure is OK. Try experimenting on the paper but use ink first. The paiont is thicker but its a better way to get used to handling the airbrush.
  10. The Marines one would be the Shamrock that got the only Marine MiG kill in Vietnam in my opinion.

    f-4n

I'd check on this, as I believe it is an F-4B. It does not have any of the RHAW bits on the side of the intakes which the -B would carry. I will try and investigate further when I get a chance.
  12. The way I do it is to use a toothpick, but under a slowly running tap, as that washes the rubbish away as you're working. Only problem I have is my back can only stand this for 15 minutes or so.
  13. As Edgar says, it sounds like a flow defect. An alternative to vacforming would be a clear resin copy, then several could be made. It's always worth thinking about alternatives.
  14. And a fine decal sheet it is too. :D
  15. Heres one I took a loooonnnnngggg time ago at RAF Woodbridge. Haven't seen these slides for a while.
  16. Hi Diego my friend I'm really looking forward to seeing these sheets. I haven't yet produced any of your last markings yet due to other projects. Fortunately the NC-141A is finished, and another odd project is getting there (3 RC-12's), and after that it is Phantom time again. I will of course get several of your sheets in 1/72nd scale (the only true scale) as usual. Best regards Ted
  17. I heard that the slime lights were added as the rework was done at the same time as the 'S' models were reworked, and were fitted. These J's were the only non test J-s that had them as far as I'm aware. The structure is the same as the USAF slime lights.
  18. Hi Deadmeat To confirm what Andre says about the F-4J(UK) loadout, they were entirely air to air. Below is a shot I took at an airshow somewhere in the UK, and this is the only photo I have of a loaded aircraft. The baggage pods are interesting, as again it's the only time I saw them. Most of my shots show the centre line 600 gallon tanks fitted, but not the 370 gallon wing tanks. Hope this helps.
  19. Can't allow this topic to go on without this Brazilizn 295 from this years Fairford. Been meaning to add this from the Royal International Air Tattoo team. RIAT 2009 Best Livery Award and the winner was.......... Lt Daniel Jordano and crew of 2/10 Aviation Group, Brazilian Air Force with their Casa C295M Many congratulations.
  20. As it's been a long time, and I've just started digitizing some slides, I thought I'd add these 3 from the '80's The first one is from the Alabama ANG photographed at RAF Coltishall when they did a deployment, probably around 1984. The second one is from the 363rd TFW and this one is Alconbury in 1983. The third one is 26th TRW taken during one of the Mildenhall air shows. Hope you like them, there may be more. Ted
  21. I had seen that site Isaac, but thanks for the link. I found the shot with a black radome interesting, but decided to do a grey nose, as that seemed the most common.
  22. Basically, the upper extension of the legs weren't long enough, as on photo's I've seen the top of the leg actually protrudes through the sponson, and as kitted, they were too short. Thanks for the nice comments.
