  1. That's a great looking Eagle! A lot of attention to detail there...great job! I think that Eagle came from Kadena...I spent 4 years there in the Special Operations Wing there and saw the F-15's fly every day. Cheers...Ron
  2. Just remember that most of it burned off coming back through the atmosphere! Cheers....Ron
  3. My dad was on the Apollo 11 launch team. He worked the rocket engines on the Lunar Module.
  4. Kinda off topic but does anyone make a B-17 crew inflight to put in the seats for a flying display? I know Monogram had a set of crew figures in the high end B-17 kit. Now back to our regular scheduled B-17 chat..... Cheers....Ron
  5. Had a few syncrophasers on the old MC-130 that would wander off and the engineer would unsync them all and then re-sync them up. Was a lot of vibration for that brief period of flight. Cheers...Ron
  6. Lookin good! I flew the T2 as a Lockheed employee here at Kirtland. The old girl gained a lot of weight. When they put the hose pods on and other associated equipment the operating weight was around 102,000 pounds. Max takeoff was 155,000 so it really limited the payload it could carry. Cheers...Ron
  7. That Pioneer Airways DC-3 was a good looking airplane too. My old boss in C-5's when he was a young loadmaster flew on AC-47's in South Vietnam. He said it was a great airplane to fly in. Cheers....Ron
  8. I've built three of those Monogram C-47's over the years. You did a great job on yours! No TSA...no jetway no fighting for an overhead bin...people dressed nice to fly and got real silverware for their inflight meal..... Cheers....Ron
  9. Great job....fantastic display and cabinet/table too. Wish I had the woodwork skill for some display stuff I want to do. Cheers...Ron
  10. That's awesome! A Herk in SEA paint is always my favorite. Cheers...Ron
  11. It's an origional logo from Lockheed....I have the patch my dad wore on his flight suit when he was stationed at Edwards AFB in the late 50's early 60's. There was no mistake it was a 104 in the pattern with the J-70 howl. Cheers...Ron
  12. That's awesome! Hope you can slide that wing through and not break an HF antenna! Waiting to see the finished EC Hercules sitting on the parking ramp. Cheers...Ron
  13. Pretty funny though! One of the maintenance guys here put the radar control panel in a MC-J back in backwards. I said he had his job guide upside down and it matched the picture..... Cheers...Ron
  14. I think they hung the externals backwards....the QRC-84-02 pods should be to the outside aft end of the external. Cheers...Ron
  15. I flew in a few C-130E's still in SEA paint and the right side of the tail the brown was done to look like a birds head. It was awesome! Cheers...Ron
  16. Wow! That's awesome work. We have some Harrisburg crews here converting to the MC-J. They would love seeing their old legacy EC when it's done! Cheers...Ron
  17. Those two top pictures show it removed with the cover plate in place. The MC-J system is very small...a square plate with about 200 rivets and the ball is probably the size of a soccer ball....maybe smaller. Cheers...Ron
  18. One of the best looking airlifters ever built! But I am a Herk guy..... Cheers....Ron
  19. Some nice models there! I like those B-24's and the 2 F-15's. The outside airplanes need some resto work but it was good to see them. Thanks for sharing! Cheers...Ron
