  1. Neil where have you beeeeennn... Have you searched for "Paragon" on ebay lately? Seen how much some of your stuff goes for? Is this not proof that there is a market!
  2. The 492nd FS are the 'Madhatters' not the 'Tophatters' used to be the 'Bolars'
  3. It was SALT II, START II was and is the program of B-52 destruction, and proof of destruction at AMARC. And the major differences between a early G and H were just the Engines and rear gun type. Later on while both types gained the EVS turrets, some of the G models gained the wing root modifications. Its possible without any great difficulty to make any G or H from the AMT kits, but you will need to know what type you want to build and from what time frame before you can fix on which kits you will need to use. The B-52H was at the time of ODS one of two types standing nuclear alert, the ot
  4. Yes, the LA tail coded B-52H's are a more common sight here than any other. Not to sure why though
  5. Iron Butterfly was nice. As was Appetite for Destruction The latter has already been covered by J-Bot decals, but both woulf make worthy models, considering the wide range of weapons they carried. The Statue of Liberty was carried by all the B-52G's of the 416th BMW, 668th BMS. [nb their jets were all ALCM ready] Their home state is of course New York. THe thing with the B-52 was all but a few had nose art or some type, a lot had real stunning works of art while others were skillful daubs. All you have to do is Pick a scheme Pick a Wing Pick a jet Cool markings for me would be
  6. I see. I wasnt sure why they were renamed, I didnt realise they were renamed after they were re-engined.
  7. In that case you will either have to build an A model or find somebody who has either an EC-135C or KC-135R kit and who wants to build a KC-135A instead.
  8. Does Lakenheath use the canvas type or the plastic type covers? I have only seen the canvas type in use myself.
  9. The HDU pods as supplied in the kit are not 100% accurate for a USAF bird but I believe its not to hard to cut away and add the parts that make them the versions as used by the USAF. Otherwise he is right, you would do better taking it back for a swap because the odds of finding somebody who has a KC-135R and wants to build a KC-135A instead are small.
  10. In order to change the Heller KC-135A to either a KC-135E [TF-33 engines] or KC-135R [F-108 engines] you will need to either KC-135E Get some TF-33 engines, AND the horizontal stabalizers from the AMT EC-135C Looking Glass kit. KC-135R Get some F-108 [aka CFM-56] engines and horizontal stabilizers from either the AMT KC-135R kit or the Heller C-135FR kit You will need the stabilizers as well as the engines because the A variant used the "short" stabs, the other updated versions used the "long" ones. You CAN NOT use the Airfix/Heller AWACS engines on a xC-135x jet, they are NOT the same p
  11. mrvark. whats the problem with the ProModeler weapons? I found that page before hatchet, in my search for info on the GBU-8 weapons... not much info on them though
  12. Sounds like a mating of GBU-8 and GBU-15 then because as you say the GBU-15 doesnt have the rails running from the forward guidance section to the wings, and the GBU-8 doesnt have the forward canards. Also I think the GBU-8 has larger wings to the GBU-15 and I also think they are "cliped" shorter too. Ill take a look at the GBU-8 I have and compare it to a GBU-15. But of course as they are both scale models its hard to tell if its 100% accurate.
  13. Fantastic picture, and what makes it even better is its a Liberty Wing "Madhatter"
  14. 72nd B-1B decals are a bit thin on the ground but not impossible to find, it all depends on wether you want a SAC bird in "Strategic" scheme or an allover gunship grey ACC bird. Good luck on the bomb bay pictures, Ive been looking a long time to build up my B-2 ref folders but come up a blank every time.
  15. Why is are the tail codes "printed up" while its in production, before the final paint is applied?
  16. I saw the MiG-29 UVT "hover" for a brief second or two and then "side" back down the way it came up with the nose still straight up... It maybe wasnt exactly like that but that was what it looked like to me. I didnt realise being able to "hover" in flight [where the nose is pointing straight up] was such a hot topic of debate, I would have thought it be "common" for a modern jet to be able to do it, it would be a pilot who is capable of keeping a mass like an F-15 from flapping in the wind while saying at the same altitude would be harder to find, especially when you remember an F-15 control
  17. I think if you ignore the fact that NONE of the 72nd scale jets have the right panel lines... Or accept thefact that none of them have the right panel lines and build from there you could make a good kit using a few of them taking parts from the Airfix kit adding them to the hasegawa kit and maybe getting the academy and italeri kits to add the finnishing touches you should end up with an F-15E to be proud of.
  18. It wont be long before a paint company makes the colour in a pot. for both colours. Great looking model though, really captures the spirit of it I think.
  19. If the guy is trying to supply a large turn over company like Sprue brothers and the little small order guys too it may take some time, but Im sure they will come through in the end, it is a small "one man enterprise" remember.
  20. Thats no really what I meant. What I meant was there is an alternative scheme to the SEA one everybody does. unlike the F-15E
  21. Your right, the Golden dragon "3rd bomb wing" sheet is really a 5th bomb wing sheet, and they have opperated from Minot AFB since they operated the B-52G in the chrome dome scheme
  22. As far as I can tell there are JBot B-52H 1x OEF/OIF era Three Guys Replicas B-52H 3x SAC > early ACC era schemes = SIOP, Strategic, Over all dark grey. [NOT gunship grey] Almark B-52 D/F/G/H [wide range D = SEA scheme, F = Chrome dome scheme, G = "Strategic" scheme, H = "Strategic" scheme. Golden dragon sheets can be found here and are about $8 each sheet. Fox one sheets for OEF/OIF era schemes NASA jets can be found here But that list isnt complete, just whats still availble I think there are a few others but I cant remember off hand without refering to my notes.
  23. I think they have just finnished producing a major order for a big company. Im sure they will come through in the end. Keep us posted on it all though
  24. What are the Italeri kits problems?
  25. To all those asking for new kits Would you acctually buy a resin aircraft kit? Bearing in mind a complete F-4 or jet of similar size in resin would be close to £100.
