I found some good Engrish in my F-22 instructions
Supertom replied to Tate's topic in General Discussion
We should totally do an "Engrish in Modeling" section. -
Totally should go for it. Every time I go out to a show I look for the exact same boxings of those kits I built growing up. I can help with moderating.

LF: 1/72 Academy/Minicraft

Hi Jeff, Is this what you're looking for? They're from the Hasegawa kit, which I believe is what the Academy/Minicraft kits are based on. -
Congratulations!

Hi Manwlo, I do have the decals! Would you PM me your address? -

Hi Jeff, I think I still have mine from a build that went bad. Let me check to make sure I didn't throw it away. I'll let you know tonight. -
Yep, that's what I'm looking for. I just need the wings, so if you have an old Tu-22 Blinder that's junked, I'll pay for the shipping. Like I said, all I need are the wings, as long as they're intact it doesn't matter if it's painted, unpainted, not assembled nicely, etc. This would be a good time to clear some space! Thanks!

Man, I'm bummed that I'm in the US right now. I got to go to the Singapore Air Show every other year until I moved away. When I was back in December it was raining cats and dogs. I'm going to have to see if my next trip back will be in conjunction with the airshow.

Hmm. I can't find Mori Mori putty, and since I'm on a time crunch I've had to go with heating up a piece of styrene to conform to the surface I'm trying to extend, then gluing it in with CA, and wrapping Apoxie Sculpt around it. I will look for Mori Mori for sure though! Thanks everyone!!!

Hey all, I've been doing some major putty work in preparation for another putty-laden project, and I've been wondering - which is stronger after it's cured, Milliput or Apoxie Sculpt? The reason is that the pointed nose of this project will be putty, unless someone tells me otherwise, in which case I might just saw the tip off, bond some styrene to it with superglue and sand it to shape. Thanks in advance for your feedback!

Oh wow, that's a whole new tooling! I would have thought it was a mix of new parts and old. Must get.

And here's an example: http://www.f-16.net/f-16_forum_viewtopic-t-10455.html

OK - I believe this is it - the decals are in 1/43, which might be close enough for your needs. http://store.scalemotorsport.com/merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=SM&Product_Code=1443&Category_Code=4

Hi Harrier/Viper fan, What scale are you working with? If in 1/48, there's a company that makes carbon fiber decals that you can use to good effect. One sheet has enough to do a whole bunch of burner cans. The name of the company escapes me now but I'll post it once I remember, unless someone beats me to it. For 1/72, I'll suggest using Testor's Metalizer Dark Anodized Gray.

Oh yeah, I saw the pics earlier and was about to post a link when Alternative4 beat me to it. Does anyone here read Korean? I'm curious as to what it says on the boxes. Maybe from there a guess could me made as to what's on the one on the right that's getting the glint of sunlight.

Hey guys, sorry to hear you've been having trouble with them. Several years ago I ordered from them fairly regularly and always had prompt service and delivery. Sounds like new management isn't too keen on customer service. Hope you get your stuff resolved.

Wow. I'm looking forward to the kits!

Hi Song, Thanks for the heads-up! I'll definitely check both out. Is Hobby Point new? I used to live in Telok Blangah. Wish that was a round when I lived in the area - I had to go all the way to Orchard Road back then.

So it looks like I'll be in Malaysia and Singapore, and will be hitting the shops for stuff to send home. Are the prices there generally the same between the two countries? I'll primarily be looking for Trumpeter, Hobby Boss and Academy stuff. Thanks!

I think one week is decent. I ordered mine on Oct 25 and received it yesterday. Don't forget that Twobobs is a small family business that's run on the side. Don't worry, it'll get to you.

Hi Diamondback, I would be most interested! Currently the issue is that the spammers have defeated our CAPTCHA system. I'm looking into getting a new one and possibly switching forum software entirely but it'll be a long-term project.
