  1. or just use the standard logic of a good free antivirus (eg avast) and a firewall (eg commodo) I haven't had a computer wrecking virus for the better part of 15 years! oh and cutting back on the werez, torrents, desktop girls will help ;-)
  2. if you like getting into nitty-gritty: Linux If u like games, updating components, or fiddling with settings : PC if you like easy interface and pretty things: Mac :)
  3. my hope is that from this event emergency procedures are re examined and improved on; a lot of the initial reports remind me of the eastern 401? accident - which led to study of passenger/crew behaviour, and ultimately improved airline safety for us all.
  4. reminds me of: Yuri: How many Kalashnikovs do you have? Uncle Dimitri: Forty thousand. Yuri: Is that a four? Doesn't look like a four to me. Looks more like a one. Uncle Dimitri: No, it's a four. Yuri: It's whatever we say it is, because no one else will know the difference. Ten thousand Kalashnikovs for a battalion... your stocks are badly depleted, Dimitri. You should order more from the factory. Uncle Dimitri: Someone will work it out. What happens then? Yuri Orlov: We'll cut them in. ;)

  11. yea its about $40ish all up for one of those here; the Airfix will be either $13 or $16. their a4d-1 was a good seller over the years, so a new A-4A/B would do very well! B) I know locally the new Airfix spits have sold by the ton (thanks in no small part to James Mays TV show)
  12. sounds like its coming together nicely B)
  13. most guided weapons on Su-24 don't require a targeting pod (the needing of pods for guided weapons is far more prevalent in the west) unless its a very recent missile/bomb kh-23, kh-25,kh-28,kh-29L/T(x2), kh-58(x2) fantasmagoria pod is needed for using four Kh-25ml or three Kh-29T for LGBs: pretty much all KAB serries guided bombs su-24m2 can use all the latest munitions without pod IIRC Kh-31A/P, (Kh-59MK, KAB-500KR) hope that helps :)
  14. conder has the benifit of not having to assemble the fuselauge sides; its a tub + top condor dossnt have the engine fans, ICM does.. condor missiles look soft, but fine. If u go for condor grab the PD boxing; its of a higher quality and better plastic than the earlier P :) both kits canopies seem schitty
  15. ...actually it is a designation :P based on whom started the OKB. Officially Sukhoi was OKB-51, but was referred to as Sukhoi after Pavel Sukhoi. cant remember when the specific order was given, around 1942,when the ANT-51 became the su-2 the now common designations based on the first two letters of the famous designers surnames were used (MiG being the exception) so you have sukhoi = су yak = як Ilusian = ил beriev = бе tupolev = ту After Gurevich's death, the company became Mikoyan OKB, although the "MiG" designation was kept, in all probability due to its stro

  18. Hiya! here's the new thread for the Iraq-Iran war GB! mods were looking at June-July, but I'm guessing if we can get enough people interested who aren't covered by the other GBs, we can get it bumped forward! :) so post your support! :D
