  1. Hi all! So I am just now getting to posting pics of a build I completed last month... Anyway, here is my 1/48 Hasegawa F-16D Arctic Aggressor of the 18 AGRS at Eielson AFB, Alaska, 2008. I have always loved this aggressor scheme, and modelling it in a two-seat F-16D variant seemed only right! The Hasegawa F-16 kit is actually quite nice for it's age and very good fit. It is a rather simple kit, not a huge amount of parts really and I enjoyed the build. The F-16D kit I used is an older one, and did not have the correct "wide mouth" intake I needed, so I sourced

  12. Now that the Tamiya Tony is in the case, time to start on the next project which I picked up in Chattanooga in January, The Hasegawa 1/48 P-39 along with a beautiful wooden base from Bases by Bill (picture coming!) with the nametag of the Soviet P-39 ace Alexander Pokryshkin. Picked up the kit as a package with the nice wooden base and name plaque, and the Eduard PE bits for the interior, placards and flaps. I'm more used to Eduard's really nice P-39 kits which are mostly out of production now, but the Hasegawa kit has a nice level of detail and the Eduard PE just adds to the det
  13. Good Morning, Did you buy one of the Hasegawa Idolmaster boxings in 1/72 because they were on sale and cheap? Did you already have other decals to make a normally marked jet? Do you have those sheets still sitting around somewhere? If so, I'm looking to take some of them off your hands! My two young daughters and I are building a couple of airplanes, and we could use some of the stars/flowers/hearts/whatever to dress up their custom paint schemes. Oldest picked a V-22, youngest picked a F-16 and they are going to have some very bright paint, and could use ap
  14. I recently got this kit as a started one that was missing pieces. I was able to go thru my spares and find all I needed except the following: A10 (intake-see picture) MA #1,2,7,9,10 (PE fret-see picture) I'll be happy to take them used, painted, whatever you got and will pay for your time and parts. Thanks a bunch! Later, Lee
  15. This is the quarter scale Phantom FGR 2 92Sqn special blue scheme by Hasegawa. Difficult and expensive to come by, but still the only one on the market. As always an excellent kit with few hangups. Extra detail was provided by eduard PE and resin. The base is home made. Built for one if the aircrew of this aircraft with only three training missiles. This aircraft is being restored at my local museum: Tangmere Military Aviation Museum.

  19. Hi everyone! Back again after taking another break from building for awhile... So here is my latest completed project, the 1/48 Hasegawa F/A-18C Hornet in VFA-86 Sidewinders CAG markings circa 2006. I was drawn to the large orange diamond on the spine, much like the old A-7s of the same squadron in the late 70s, so I knew I had to build my first Legacy Hornet in those markings. Soon I will build a Corsair in the same "diamond spine" style markings. The decals I used are from Afterburner Decals "Snakes on a Plane" sheet. These performed flawlessly like usual. The ki
  20. Little late getting this posted but looking at another large Hasegawa bird this week, with their 1/32nd scale N1K2-J in markings for the series Shidenkai no Maki.
  21. This was a pretty tough build for a Hasegawa kit. I opted to build it with the wing down and droops & ailerons up since the whopping majority of photos of parked F-8s show it in that configuration, but it wasn't easy getting rid of all the gaps that presented. Then there was the infamous problem of posing the canopy open. It's clear Hasegawa intended for the wing to be up and the canopy to be down, but I just had to be contrary. To make matter worse, the kit decals shattered when they hit the water. I managed to salvage them by spraying the sheet with Future, but that made them tend to cur
