Some Tomcat pics

Recommended Posts

Ah yeah, missed that ... Well that 'splains it pretty well then ...

Thanks Brian ...

Gregg

Actually Gregg and Brian , this picture was taken in 1986 and the SunDowners painted up one of there Tomcats in VF-1 Colors to confuse the Russian Spytrawlers which always were shadowing the Carriers

That why the sunrays are still on the rudders

The 160654 is one of a longtime SunDowner Tomcat !! even the CAG bird flew with the NG tailcode around that time.

This is the Last Cag Bird ( Buick ) of VF-111 160920 , this Tomcat came from VF-154 , VF-111 exchanged some F-14's while being in Japan.

Sweet! VF-111 CAG jet in the TPS scheme. I think it looks much better than in the overall Gull Gray.

Turns out, we got one more chance to see the big Cat...October 4, 2006, the last ever USN flight of the F-14 returned this bird back home, and she will eventually be on display at the Grumman plant in Bethpage, NY.
