Hawkeye's Hobbies
you guys are killin' me here! What's a guy gotta do to see some more USCG Seahawks? Sorry but the only USCG helos I get to see around here are Dolphins. They have to fly over from Michigan to do any searches here in Wisconsin lakes or when the Pres comes to visit. Last time that happened they were orbiting over my house waiting for the motorcade to depart...the sniper was in the door with the "big" gun. We exchanged waves. rotorwash
Time to post a few pics to my favorite thread. I know I always post Army stuff so tonight how about a few Marine Cobras. These pics are scans of slides donated to the Naval Aviation Museum in Pensacola. I must admit that these are some pretty colorful snakes. Enjoy! Ray Jon hates this sharkmouth, but it IS different:
rotorwash
Oooh-freakin'-Rah! I take it you like em. Here's one i forgot, but I actually like it a lot. The two tone grey cammo doesn't seem to be all that common, at least to an Army guy. Ray

Ray Ray had an adventure last week, and he's shared a ton since we're co-authoring the History of the American Armed Helicopter. Lets just say we've got hi-res shots of Operation MARHUK. Some fantastic shots there and I think he's just barely scratched the surface! Jon
David Walker
Thanks so much for posting this photo: So far I've only been able to find one other photo of the tan and brown AH-1W's, so this will help me quite a bit with a future project.
rotorwash
David, I'm glad the photo was helpful. unfortunately, it's the only photo of that scheme I have as well. I'll be on the lookout for more though if I get back down to Pensacola. Ray

I'll be on the lookout for more though if I get back down to Pensacola. Ray Ray, Thanks for the photos. Here is a scheme that I can help with. Some my own pictures, some from a cruisebook and some from the web. I've got better ones but I have to scan them. Edited October 19, 2008 by SuperCobra
