chopperpilot71
After a modeling lull for the last few months, I wanted to get back at it with an easy build, something small, simple, and not a natural metal finish....so I chose a 1/72 RB-36H....yeah, I know. Here's what I've got so far. Edited March 12, 2010 by chopperpilot71
Paul Mullins
So, Where you planning on parking this ton of plastic when it's done? The way I figure it, you're gonna need at least an acre of land or so. Paul
B-1 Nut
Lovin' it, bro. Can't wait to see it in person next month. Keep the pics a comin' JED

John Krukowski
Looks like a nice, straight job so far, as in all the wheels touching the tabletop evenly...speaking of wheels, I really like your treatment on these, they look so realistic: Really some nice work on the whole thing. Impressive already... John
caudleryan
I'm currently rescribing one of these monsters. I'm looking foward to seeing this one completed! We don't see too many of these being built, anymore. RYAN.

Aggressor Supporter
Wow, I can't imagine how big this thing is in person! Watching with interest!
Longbow Mech
Dude this thing is smokin hot. I am like Jed, I love the diff. shades of metal. This monster of a kit is going to look awesome with all the markings on it! Brock
Av8fan
Very nice. I like the way you put that. Something easy. We do not get enough B-36 builds.
chopperpilot71
Thanks for comments folks, they're motivating (and I definately need it!) Okay, since my last update I had a painting catastrophy, the entire spine area from behind the wing and all the way back had to be sanded down to the plastic and re-done!! I almost gave up, but thankfully I was able to recover and get it re-painted. (sheeww!) I have the props painted and almost ready to decal, and I got some more metalizing complete. I should be wrapping things up this weekend on it.
B-1 Nut
My gosh, that thing looks awesome. The spinners like like bare metal foil. Are they Alclad? Regardless.....It looks sweet. JED
VADM Fangschleister
Jimmy Stewart would be proud! Excellent work! Fang
Spruemeister
Awesome! Just, awesome. Really like the finish and the props. Wheels are great too. I would flatten the bottoms to give them some footprint, though. Big beast like this didn't stand up on its tippy toes. Looking forward to more. Rick L.
ventura_kelley
Thanks for comments folks, they're motivating (and I definately need it!) I should be wrapping things up this weekend on it. That is some of the most realistic paint chipping I've ever seen on a prop in any scale, let alone 1/72nd. How'd you do it? FANTASTIC work on this bomber. I really like what you're doing here.
chopperpilot71
Pretty much done, just gotta add the sway braces to the jet pods, and re-attach the nose and tail guns as well as a couple antenna's. It'll be a while before I do a natural metal model again! Although I had a great time building it!!
ST0RM
That is truly a beautiful build. The various shades of painting and weathering looks great. Congrats! -JS

josh1813
Man that looks great, makes me want to start mine, but I'm gonna have to find a hangar for it first, until then I'll just continue to drool over this one.
Longbow Mech
Dude you killed this joker . It looks awesome! I can't wait to see it in person. Where are you going to keep this monster? Brock
