Hi everybody, here's my first entry to this board, hope you'll like it :)

This is my second model (my first was Italeri F-16, you can see it on some pics here too), i built it few months ago. What can i say? I t took me a lot of years to finally start with this hobby and i love it hehe.

This one is Academy' SU-27 UB Flanker, and idea was to make one of those stunning demo birds with this cool camo scheme. I used a lot of references from this forum, so i decided to join here too :)

I used Begemot decal set, Neomega cockpit, canopy and nose cone. Paint i used were Humbrol acryl, and some Model Master acryls.

I didn't manage to get one of custom rocket kits, so i had to use ones that came with Academy kit, and i scratchbuilt KH-29's.

Kit was a very nice thing to build with a few issues - A LOT of putty and sending, especially on the intakes (see pic below), and i had a hard time with leading edge slats, they have a slight problem with wing curvature but i managed to put them in the place eventually hehe

About cockpit - well, the one that comes with the kit is mostly fine, as the default kit cockpit can go (except the seats, those are terrible), BUT when you do this with aftermarket one - it's a hell of a difference, trust me :) It also solves the problem of sanding the seam on the canopy, since this one i got with cockpit doesn't have one, and has proper curvature too. So you can just go with polishing and adding detail to it :)

Also, about the kit rockets - i'm kinda puzzled with such thick control surfaces Academy put on those. So i'll replace them with some aftermarket ones as soon as i get a chance.

That's an awesome build. You really did a nice job. If I may suggest something...fix the canopy so that its lines up correctly. It seems that it is leaning over to the left a little bit. I noticed that all of your head on photos are off by a few degrees to compensate for this.

Should be a very easy fix.
