modelman11
I only do 1/48 scale...h Dont think anyone ever did them in 72. What? Monogram makes the B-1B in 1/72..........or are you talking about update sets? Because yeah, no one has done any 1/72 B-1B update sets......
utley
The only upgrades i've seen for the 72 is a Goffy model cockpit on ebay and nothing else.
nightmare77
Yeah too bad. The B-1B needs a few major upgrades as the kit is WAAAAY off. Two Mikes talked about it and Id put my money on them. Though they seem to be busy and only getting busier.....
KRI76
I recently asked TwoMikes about a release date for the B-1B set and the answer was August. I do hope it's true: I really really do! /Kristian
Brett M
Shipment from Shull arrived yesterday. So now my Bone has a SNIPER pylon installed, towed decoys mounted. SNIPER pod is being assembled, waiting for the Future to try for two days before I start masking and painting. Pics.....well, when I get back home :)
Jose Maria
Hi guys! Very nice topic this one!! I have one Revell's 48th scale Bone here too, but mine is completely unbuilt yet (I dont have where to put him built). Soon I'll have my home expanded and after that I'll have plenty of space to expose him, so i'll wait to start building him after this... I spent the late our just reading all that previous 44 pages in this topic seeing the budies works, just a lot of BEAUTIFUL BONES!! Congratulations to all budies by their models, stunning. Cheers from Brazil. JM Edited May 7, 2010 by Jose Maria
utley
I cut the slats out and made a makeshift root out of Styrene and putty. ill show pics tomorrow. the root doesn't look too good now but some .2mm Styrene sheet will cover it all up.
utley
I really should invest in a nice shiny new digital camera that can take some decent pics... Edited May 7, 2010 by utley
Brett M
Looking good utley, I would have liked to have done that to mine, but I'm not that good at scratch. Here are my latest updates. Sorry for the poor quality of the pictures, I can tell it's time to buy a new camera. This one is on it's last legs. So, SNIPER is partially assembled. I have the glass polished and brushed Future onto it. Painted the FLIR lens, then added a drop of Micro Klear onto it. Shull24 did an outstanding job on this, can't wait to start my Beagle and get the other SNIPER built. I attached the pylon to the front of the fuselage and just need to make sure there are no seams or CA marks. Same with the rear decoys, glued on and in place. I saw one spot where CA ran, so I'll sand that smooth again. You can also see the scratch I added for the defensive system on the bottom of the tail. Comments and critiques are welcome. Thanks for looking. And the new, larger workspace.
utley
Scratch building this stuff isn't hard at all...this is my first model in 10 years, and my first one trying any attempt at realism. come to think of it its my first plane i ever built without ever making airplane noises out of my mouth! NEEEROHMMM!
Don RD
Wow! What a resource this thread will be. I'm gearing up to begin a Bone in a couple of weeks and I'm greatly impressed by some of the finished and in progress builds here. Lots of inspiration for detailing which will certainly tax and likely surpass my current skill level to accomplish, but trying is half the fun, eh? This kit seems to be a bit like a catch-22; the payload provided is appropriate for an early SAC Bone but the decals provided in the more recent release are more current aircraft. The FoxOne decals for early Bones are unavailable from any source, as far as I can tell. OTOH, to build a current Bone from this kit requires purchase of JDAMs and/or other armament, the towed decoy, new exhausts and possibly a sniper pod. Decision made, and the Eduard and Shawn Hull resin is on the way. Hopefully, i can do half as well as what I've seen. ..be even better if i had a pic of some flaps in the extended position or maybe a diagram. i got a wing disected for testing. right now im trying to work the flaps down and slats extended. Utley, the Daco book has some pretty detailed photos of the flaps extended. Sorry, if I had a scanner, I'd scan the images for you...., but someone early in this thread also scratch built extended flaps; around page 10 if I remember correctly. Have a look there if you haven't already done so. Don Edited May 7, 2010 by Don RD

Don Page 3, and its Not near enough what im looking for. i think the DACO Won't show the full travel of the actuators or what they even look like. the wing i made is just a test wing to see if i can do it without damaging the wing too much, and its looking so good i just might use it. right now im in the process of molding a seamless intake with RCS vanes...hopefully it will juro out like i hope, but this is my first time casting resin. I was thinking of pages 7,8 of the DACO Peeters book. Bottom of page 7 seems to show the Fowlers extended in the detail that you would need. Page 8 shows details of the slats and the mechanism of flap extension. Are you looking form something else? Don Edited May 8, 2010 by Don RD

Try Squadron; I think that they're in stock. For discussion purposes only, these images are reproduced from the DACO book and show the mechanisms that move the control surfaces of the B1 wing.
