oppenheimerj
Hi guys, long time no posting on this forum, this is my new proyect, i hope it will turn ok, this time i will build in a different sequence, i will start with all the smal pieces like cockpit, engine, landing gear, doors , and extra aftermarket pieces then i will start putting all together, so in the beggining you only will see pictures of this parts then will come the build itself.

I started with the EDUARD resin cockpit modified so it will be a 1A, here are some pictures

too bad that most of the details will be hidden once the cockpit is close in the fuselage, that is why i took this pictures

this is the model engine, just added the wires, the exhaust is just dry fit at the moment, but the joint of the exhaus wont be visible thanks to the cowling flap doors

one modification will be the removal of the left side access panel for the portion between the engine and the fuel tank

Edited June 26, 2015 by jorge Oppenheimer

K5054NZ
That's beautiful! It seriously looks as though someone dissected a real Corsair's interior. Fine work! I'm excited to see more.
strikeeagle801
That is a beautiful start! Your cockpit looks extremely realistic. Great job so far. Aaron
Joel_W
Jorge, I've seen your work on the LSP forum as my brother (Peterpools) is always referencing your work. Your modeling skills are clearly evident with your highly detailed cockpit. It just doesn't get any better then that. As for the engine, the exhaust headers are really well painted and weathered, as is the rest of the Big Wasp R2800. Looking forward to your continued updates here on ARC. chuck540z3
AWESOME Jorge! You really are one of the great builders. I just love that cockpit and engine!
Youngtiger1
Wow, those exhaust pipes on that engine looks awesome. Your weathering on it is top notch
oppenheimerj
little update, the after market engine accesory section almost done, need to add some wires and hoses also the tail gear housing painted, we all know that most of it wont be visible again, but had to be painted and the fuselage ready to be closed, with the Eduard resin cockpit module in place
Joel_W
Jorge, Those engine headers look fantastic. I'm really impressed with the weathering of the tail wheel assembly. It's a real shame that most of it will never see the light of day. At least the engine accessory bay will be visible to some extent. Joel
taggor
OMG the most amazing pit i've ever seen!! I would echo the same statement! WOW!
oppenheimerj
Hi guys, not much done so far, just finished both main gear and tires, to me they look ok, need the opinion if something is missing or wrong Also i managed to close the fuselage and the engine accessory compartment is almost done, some minor touch up to do
falcon20driver
Of all the builds I've watched on this forum, yours is the finest piece of work yet. Your ability to paint and weather in an unbelievably realistic fashion is second to none in my opinion.
Uncle Uncool
Such an awesome build, Jorge! It brought me back memories of the Baa Baa Black Sheep TV series starrin' Robert Conrad circa... 1976? I was just 5! With regard to the exhaust manifold layout; are there any tubes sharin' three or more exhausts? Did ya happen to have glued the exhausts already? If not, would ya please take a piccie of 'em separated from the engine for me? Tryin' to replicate 'em on an Otaki 1/48 kit. Thanks, Jorge Cheers, Unc²

Congratulations. Polo.
Joel_W
Jorge, My brother Peter has always spoken of your work as truly done on a professional standard, and from what you've posted here, he's being quite conservative in his appraisal. Your landing gear sub assemblies are excellent. I wouldn't add anything nor do any more weathering, as they look about as real as one can get. The engine accessory compartment looks more then busy enough even when one stares into its recesses. The weathering gives the impression of a well maintained but operational aircraft. I'm really looking forward to your next update. Joel
oppenheimerj
Thanks guys, i am trying to represent a used Crosair but not that worn,Uncle sorry but the exhaust are already glued in place, one thing i can tell you, even if you model the cowling cooling doors open you wont be able to see much, jus a pile of pipes but you dont see where they come from, you have 6 exhaust in the corsair 3 on aech side one exhaust is fed by 3 cylinders and so on 18 cil divided by 6 pipes will give you 3 Edited April 12, 2015 by jorge Oppenheimer
Don
Fantastic...just absolutely stunning work! A joy to view and follow. Well done Sir! Regards, Don
oppenheimerj
this will be the last update for 8 days, got to fly out of the country, i finished the propeller, looks worn but i think it is ok if you visualize this birds working on sand runways on the airplanes i fly the propos get worst in paved runways so i thinks this one is ok for my taste and here is a general view of the bent wing bird so far, little by little is starting to look like a Corsair
kurnass77
One of the best show of modelling skill I ever see! Perfect in any detail...real indeed! Cheers, Gianni
