The latest issue of Combat Aircraft Monthly says that the USAF F-16s have been withdrawn and that 2 have been refurbished and sent to Pakistan so far. Brian

This was the IMAX film released several years ago, I have it on DVD and it is great. I'm so glad I finally got to go to Nellis this year for Aviation Nation, Nellis really is a great place. I found a park one day that overlooked the base and watched a massive launch of F-15s, 16s and 22s. It was really cool and I envy the people that live in Vegas. Brian

Negative Ghostrider, the pattern is full. Had to be said Brian

That Intruder looks a lot better than the kits I give the Oven Cleaner treatment! Brian

To add to what Brian said, you can check out the "adversary blue paint" thread in the Fightertown decals board for mixing ideas. Brian

Just saw the other two NSAWC F-18F's today, #12 & #13 both in standard TPS scheme. Brian F-18F 12 F-18F 13

Most definitely paint it, bare plastic doesn't look right. The good news, it should take very few coats to do. I wish all kits had their landing gear and wheel wells molded in white, things would be much easier.

Well the three basic colors, (36307, 36251, 35237) are the same, just the radomes shown are different. I believe the 35189 was used on the leading edges, as its omitted or replaced in many painting guides, so I'm not sure it stands out from the 35237. Brian

Yeah, it looks like the standard Greek colors, which are the same as the F-16N. BRian

Yeah, I'm doing one now, Minnesota ANG. I used the Hasegawa block 15, and took the Revell tail, bird slicers and Sparrow pylons (plus drilled a hole for the light). That seems to be the easiest way to do it. Brian

The original Fulcrum scheme was light gray 36495 and blue 35414 and some aircraft had the much darker 35164 as the blue. Brian

Gunship Gray, 36118. Brian

Because its better than building an F-35?
-
Definitely unnecessary. At least now we can train F-22 pilots, and the F-15s and F-16s can serve the DACT role again There hasn't been enough dissimilarity for the last 20 years.
-
Could you elaborate on this? I've never seen an all blue F-16, only the Flanker colors. Thanks.

Were any of the FIS squadrons painted in Mod Eagle? I'd like to do one from the 48th or 318th in that scheme. Brian
-
I think that picture just changed my mind. I really want a 1/48 F-16XL now.
-
It really doesn't look anything like the F-117, its not worth the time it takes to build. I wish I had done more research before I built mine.
-
There were 2 schemes - one with 35414 (#69 is the only one I'm sure of) and one with 35164 (#s 07, 39, 64). Brian

The Colors in the D&S books are definitely correct. Most of these schemes were very common. The Navy Adversary book doesn't actually provide the FS colors. New Blue: 35164/35109/35414. The Ferris scheme also uses these colors. http://www.jpsmodell.de/dc/draw/f5blue_n.jpg Ghost: 35237/36251/36307/35622. The Navy ghost scheme used the USAF colors, but the same pattern as "New Blue" http://www.jpsmodell.de/dc/draw/f5gho_o.jpg Lizard 33531/30118 http://www.jpsmodell.de/dc/draw/f5lizold.jpg Snake: 34258/30118/33531 http://www.jpsmodell.de/dc/draw/f5snake.jpg A-4 3-green: 34086/34

Well, I was already ordering to stock up on supplies, so that was already $8 shipping, which would have been the same for the Hasegawa kit, and then I picked up 2 of the Tamiya kits for another $66. Only a few years ago I was buying the Hasegawa CJs for $18, but the price is going up fast, so I'm stocking up on a few extra ones now. There doesn't seem to be as many on Ebay these days as there once was. I am quite excited about the upcoming Kinetic ones though. Brian
-
Well, the Hasegawa ones are now going for $29 - $41, and I just got the Tamiya CJ for $33, so the price isn't that far off. Brian

Hi, I have the sheets, I can try to scan them this weekend, but here are better diagrams around on the internet than the instructions provided 48-53 has the following F-5E schemes Navy "New Blue" USAF Ghost USAF Lizard USAF Snake 48-316 Navy: F-5F Ghost F-5E Ferris F-5F Beige/Brown/Green/Tan A-4 2-Gray A-4 Brown/Green/Gray A-4 3-Green As for the F-16N, I haven't ever seen that scheme. The only tan/brown one I know of was 41. Brian
