Pembroke was my Hungates. Although I did go to Greenbrier from time to time.

Tony, You getting a cut of this, since you did the whole Arc reactor thing first. Or is this not up to your standards...
-
Funny coincidence. I was mostly raised down there (VA), since my dad was Navy, but lived up here about 30 mins from Ypsi now for about 15 years. Used to spend a lot of time at Hungates and was a original member of the club that was sponsored by them.

Would it happen to have been in Ypsilanti? If so, great place and great folks.

Yea, but Rightwinger has it right in my opinion. I know I am guilty of buying online and the funny thing is they are often the same people my LHS get his stuff from. I have mostly stopped that now, because I am trying to do my bit to keep him going. Oh well. We can only try.

A positive story on the Navy's F-35C tests from Forbes... Forbes story Good job Navy

Phil, reading your story above I did this (out loud) "Noooooooooo" That hurt. Some lucky chum at the charity shop though...

Thanks, I am always impressed by the level of details on those models. They were really well done. Would have been awesome to work on some of those (seemingly) large model building teams.

That was a pretty great video that the HAF put together for the A-7. Always loved the Corsair and the Greeks sure had some great special schemes for them over the years!

Tenax and Tamiya liquid glue shelf life?

Thanks for all the replies gents. Much appreciated. -
Wow. So you 'rescribed' the whole jet? Extremely nice clean work! I also really loved the exhaust section and the Bi-centennial markings always looked sharp to me!

Hi all, I am not a chemist so don't know much about this stuff, but I have an opportunity to buy a case or two of each. How long can this stuff sit in their bottles and not go 'stale'? Thanks.

This was pretty interesting to me. The pilot was wearing the kind of 'standard' helmet that we used to see a lot, but I found it really interesting that during the turning and burning, he was losing his mask. Hard to get oxy that way I would think. Also, you do see some HUD footage and the other MiG that he is mock dogfighting. YouTube MiG-29 Video Last thing, about 3:50 long. Edit: also subtitled with Russian. So those of you that don't speak Bulgarian or Russian, like me, just have to watch for other 'value'.

And if you look you can see the 'reversed' or mirrored image of the tail in on the left wing. You can tell by the vertical stripe of the tail.

Beautiful. But in all fairness to Ken, he was stung by a Scorpion...

Well, looks like California is getting some more JSF love... NAS Lemoore wins

Went with my daughter and we both entered a couple kits. She took home a 2nd and was pretty happy about it. Nice show.

The Late Rick Chin's Personal Collection of Built models up for
IrishGreek replied to Emvar's topic in General Discussion
I didn't know Rick, but had read the thread when he passed. He sure was a pretty prolific modeller though! Good going Rick! He did some nice builds and from what I remember, he was someone I would have liked to meet. RIP. -
Just found out that one of the hobby shops from the Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti area is going to be having a table there, the Model Cave. So another reason to bring some cash!
-
Really looking beautiful so far! Good Luck!
-
I am hoping to be there from SE MI. Hope to meet some new folks too.

Thanks for the story. I enjoy reading stuff on that site when I remember to look at it!
