  1. Try this thread http://www.arcforums.com/forums/air/index....&hl=typhoon
  2. The blues on your F-2 look my spot-on to my eye edited because swear filter cannot deal with English colloquialisms
  3. Great pics Karl - the one through the HUD is a great catch. Congrats on the 1000 hours
  4. And then apologised for calling him one-eyed!
  5. Now thats nice - and there's another seven T-45s being repainted in special schemes?
  6. I think you hit the nail right on the head there. Having said that, the last series (finished last week in the UK) wasn't great, and the last episode was terrible, they were just going through the motions. I worry that the show is running out of steam, but its too valuable to the BBC and the presenters for them to stop.
  7. Already a couple of threads on this http://www.arcforums.com/forums/air/index....208233&st=0 http://www.arcforums.com/forums/air/index....=212082&hl= A bit disapointed with this years offerings to be honest. Apart from the Samurai on the F-2 tail, they're just lazy imitations of previous years schemes.
  8. Their Spey Phantoms are superb. They could pass for a 2010 new tool, despite being 25 years old. The J79 ones are not as detailed as the Hasegawa ones, but nor are they anywhere near as fiddly. Personally I prefer them as I find the Hasegawa 72nd F-4s too much of a faff.
  9. I agree. Unless there is a scheme out there that I missed I won't bother getting this years specials - they just seem to be rather dull variations of last years markings
  10. I'll have to try and dig it out, but I'm pretty sure I read that the CH-47JA and the MH-47 are not the same wrt the saddle tanks.
  11. Hopefully you will try to squeeze as much as possible into the Mirage 2000 box as well. A free modern French weapons set would be most welcome
  12. Instant replay won't solve anything. An incompetently run sports organisation is still an incompetently run sports organisation, instant replay or not. Case in point? The NHL I was going to blow the whistle - non reviewable :) There's others I can't find, but that's just 1 team in the last 2 seasons on the receiving end of TERRIBLE decisions, despite having instant replay. FIFA & UEFA screw most things up, so why would they get this right?
  13. Ken - spectacular pic! Mark - interesting sequence

    Rafale!

Thanks for the pics Gary - I knew you would do much more justice to the day than me
  15. I actually counted 5. That was an atrocious call, as bad as Englands performance against Algeria
  16. Yes, I'd have loved to hang around a bit longer and see if the 5 o clock rumour was true (clearly it was), but I had already stayed 2 hours later than I had planned and the missus was on my case to get some stuff on the way home (making a 45min journey into 2 hours) and any longer and I would have been *really* burnt, not just mildly burnt! Lovely pic though Gary, must have been a terrific sight. I look forward to your thread as I know you will do the day much more justice than I could.
  17. I love this one - purely by chance I managed to catch it just as the pilot lit the burners The 100 squadron anniversary Hawk also dropped by. Didn't get a decent air to air, but caught him on the pan before I went home. A final treat was the Mk.IX Spit returning from somewhere just as I started the engine to go home Ah, "but what about the Rafales?" I hear you cry. Yes, well. Hmmm. They sat on the apron all day. And sat. And sat. Then some linies crawled all over them for a few hours, they even lit their engines for a good hour, but then they turned them off again. And contin
  18. Harrier comes back.. And then the Typhoons started to launch in numbers Now Typhoons rarely use reheat when taking off, something about the noise and it has so much thrust it doesn't really need it. But today, I dunno if it was the Frenchies being there, but there were 6 or 8 reheat takeoffs 1st one came as a bit of a shock though, nearly missed it! Seeing repeated vertical take-offs =
  19. Due to a bereavement I was off work today, so to chill out and clear my head I decided to go and sit in the sun at "Fighter-Town UK", which turned out to be a good choice As I drove past the pan, what do I see but 3 French Rafales sat in the morning sun! Never seen them in the flesh before so understandbly excited at the prospect. And not just me, because judging by the constant stream of airborne visitors, word had got around... Of course CBY wouldn't be CBY without the Tiffie, and we were treated to the usual steady stream A 19 squadron Hawk dropped by, and after a quick fuel stop
  20. Superb thread - definately needs to be pinned. Bob, how about adding pics with standard loudouts to the weapons section on p.1? Feel free to copy my pic of an RAF Typhoon with 6 AMRAAMs since it's an interesting (and rare) sight
  21. Yeah I saw they weren't clones, but the armour is similar enough - especially at the beginning when wearing helmets - that I thought they were. I know they want to maintain a Star Wars "look", but this is 4000 years before Star Wars....
  22. Cockpit shots are really good Gary
  23. OK now I'm confused. The Old Republic games are set ~ 4000 years before the movies, but in the trailer we have Republic dudes in Clone Trooper armour? Cool trailer nevertheless, even if it tell us nothing about the game....
  24. Waitaminute, have they re-opened the old Real Aviation forum? Anyway

    X-Wing

Gotta agree with the others, outstanding weathering job.
