  1. Soooo...... welcome back! I'm happy ARC is back. Many thanks to Steve et al for the hard work providing a great tool. During the pause, I made lots of progress on my Phantom. I'll try to focus on pictures instead of text. I painted the cockpit, and crew, and added the assembled cockpit into one side of the fuselage. The control panel painting may not be great, but for me, I'm pleased. This is not a step I enjoy, and have not really mastered, but this one came out ok I think. . Next was glueing up the full fuselage
  2. Just adding my name to those saying thanks for your efforts Steve. Great effort.
  3. Well, here we go. The standard starting pic. Hasegawa kit, Aires exhausts, True Details intakes and decals from Speedhunter graphics. I also have the Eduard colour photoetch for the cockpit, but may or may not use it. This will be a Euro 1, 37TFW plan, in-flight. I started with working on the cuts to the fuselage for the intakes. This was a lot of cutting and sanding, but the intakes fit quite nice. Went to the cockpit and pilots. More work needed here. I was planning to use the Eduard PE here, but the detail in the cockpit is pretty good, and the PE set didn't look too great to me
  4. Hi all, I haven't posted much in a while, but today while trying to I learned something the hard way. I used to store any photos I wanted to share on the web using Google Picasa. That allowed me to select a link that I could copy and embed into a web page, like here on Arc. Well it seems Google no longer offers that option, having changed their whole photo storage and sharing platform. I didn't know this until I found some other Google forums where the angry sentiments came out. To add to my issues, I have recently switched to using a MacBook away from a PC, and can't figure out yet how Ap
  5. Good morning, I'm in with a Hasegawa F-4G Wild Weasel Phantom. I would show pictures, but my brain is not functioning this morning and I cant figure out how to get pics from my new macbook to be useable and shareable here. I going to add to the base kit with Aires exhausts, True Details seamless intakes, and decals from Speedhunter graphics. I got a good start last night, with some work on the pilots, cockpit and the intakes. The plane will be modelled in-flight, and from the 37 TFW in Euro 1, because nothing says Wild Weasel to me like an F-4 with the "WW" on the tail. I'll get a in-pro
  6. Haven't forgotten. I've got a Wild Weasel Phantom I'm planning to do. And hopefully one other. Either a F-15e, or a Tornado GR.4
  7. Fabulous. I can only hope to get one that good.
  8. Well the Hasegawa kit includes a pilot you know....
  9. Saw the camo Hawk at the Quinte Airshow. Very cool looking. This might be put on my "to build" list. K
  10. I had a similar situation with a Trumpeter kit. Talked to the US Distributor, Stevens, they said talk to the retailer, which for me was Hobby Link Japan, and that didn't work out either. I did email Trumpeter, and got no response. Sorry for the bad news, good luck finding your parts. K
  11. To continue what started in another thread... my replacement resin nose for my Mig-23 arrived today. To recap: I bought a Trumpeter 1/48 Mig-23 MLD and the sprue with the nose cone and some other parts was not in the box. I could not get a replacement, so searched for a resin or other aftermarket piece. Lo and behold, about 2 months ago I found in a random search on the "e" auction site a new product from a company called Metallic Details. It's a resin Mig-23 nose, for a "MF" model (I think...). a few bucks and bam... purchased. It arrived today, postmarked from the Ukraine. Here's the package
  12. I got the songs download. A few pop-ups but nothing malicious really that I saw. Although it was a bit tricky to figure out which button to press to get the song file at first. I use Chrome, so maybe that helped with the pop-up stuff. And no, I don't have any extra virus blocker or anything.
  13. Man. This show gets bigger by the day! Can't wait
  14. I just ordered one of these via evilbay. Once it arrives I'll see how it works to finish up my Mig.
  15. 3 years ago this weekend I had the same experience. And it's been so much fun! Congratulations. Prepare to be tired but happy.
  16. I only came to appreciate his talent and skill as I got older too. When he was peaking in the '80s and '90s I didn't really like his music but looking back at it now, and taking his work since then, the man was truly brilliant.
  17. Here's where I'm at - Down to the details and fiddly bits. Which seem to be taking the longest time. Plus the windows - I've had to glue and re-glue them at least 3 times. There is not a lot of bonding surface for the clear plastic in the frames, and it's been a challenge using Micro Kristal to get them to stay consistently. The Dillon mini-guns and mounts are mostly ready, and I;ve got good pics on how to install the ammunition boxes and belt once I'm ready. The rotor details are coming along - my first attempts at the pitch control arms were lousy, so I've taken a while to figure out a b
  18. Hmmmm. Here's me Italeri UH-1n conversion to a CH-146 Griffon based at KAF. (Details and final painting to go) Kinetic E-2c Hawkeye (main assembly done, time for paint prep) Trumpeter Mig-23mld (assembled, waiting on nose replacement that was not in box) Hasegawa Spitfire Mk-IX (painted but needs to be redone because too much peeled after taking the masking off) In the midst of all this I also assembled a Revell F-18F and its ready for some seam cleanup and sanding. One of these will be done soon Not planning to start anymore until the Ground Pounders GB (or whatever the proper na
  19. Good morning all, I'm looking for a couple of detail sets. I know this might be a longshot because they're sold out at every store I have searched, but if you have one that you're willing to part with I'm willing to buy. Or trade. Please contact me if interested. Looking for, Wolfpack WP48005 - F-15E Strike Eagle OEF/OIF Update set (for Revell 1/48) Wolfpack WP48124 - A-6E Intruder Composite Wing Folded set (for Revell 1/48) or Paragon 48067 - A-6 Intruder Wing Fold Mechanisms Thanks,
  20. Thanks for the info. Pres'quille it is. Camped there before and it's nice I just didn't realize it was the closest to the Base
  21. Besides Pres'quille provincial park where is close camping? My grandparents lived in Trenton when I was growing up and the annual air show at the base was right of passage. Sadly they've passed away and I don't know where to stay anymore. Want to take my little girl.
  22. I've got a Wild Weasel Phantom that's been waiting to be done and another F15E. Yew haw.
