  1. It will be Rated MM............................Must Miss.
  2. So now you are a survivor; recognize this and start cherishing EVERY breath, EVERY thing. Forget about "Someday" and "one of these days". If it is worth seeing or doing, see it now or listen to it NOW. We all assume that we have time, and take for granted that we will have a TOMORROW........ SO NOW.....call all family members and your close friends and tell them what they mean to you. Call former friends and apologize and mend fences for whatever squabble twisted you away from friendship. Tell your spouse and other family how much you love them. Do not put off, hold back or save anything
  3. The oxygen hose would have been dark green, as it was removable. I am building a 1/32nd F-51D useing the old Monogram clear bird with heavy modification. The book on F-51 units in Korea is in color and detail photos of the cockpit are non-existent. But some of the upper portions of side walls can be seen and they are black. Seat cushions look to be either OD or dirty khaki. The seats and supports appear to be either flat black or Bronze green but because of heavy use they are bare metal. All the visible armor plate behind the seat is flat black. All headrest cushions are black leather. Wheel w
  4. Hope it don't bust the nose gear strut.
  5. Dude, You ever hear of "KeyHole" satellite surviellance? Of course you have. And now there are several generations beyond KeyHole that provide intel in live time that exceeds the imaginations of most people.
  6. There is a serial number on the tail, above the vertical rectangular antenna. Also note the radome on the belly.
  7. Don't care what they stole or produce.....it's not the bow and arrow, but the Indian behind the bow and arrow that counts.
  8. ...............and you are excited by this because of ............what????
  9. Fascinating....all these quotes and only one U. S. Navy base mentioned.
  10. It is rather inaccurate and takes a great deal of effort to correct the flaws. I would pass it by and get Jerry Rutman's resin kit. Or wait for another injection kit...which coud be a loonngggg wait.
  11. The Iron bombs would have been somewhat faded OD; usual practice was to wipe them off with a rag or whatever was handy. No mud or other foreign debris was allowed--might affect drop flight. Rocket pods were clean as were the Zuni containers. The centerline drop tank was usually stained by oil seeping from the engine. Standing order for Navy plane captains (known as crew chiefs in the USAF) was "If your aircraft isn't flying, you better be cleaning it". Can't say what AF crew chiefs were told or did while their aircraft sat on the ground.
  12. As I have said before; The man that works with his hands is a laborer. The man that works with his hands and head is a craftsman. The man that works with his hands, head and heart is an artist.
  13. 1969 Z-28 with a 780 CFM Holley four barrel carb, Hurst four speed, 302 CI mill blueprinted for max HP with 11:1 compression ratio and no A/C to pull power away from the engine. Dark green with broad white stripes and black interior. Take it to the red line in each gear and you are hitting 130MPH in third before going to fourth. And gasoline was $.31 a gallon.
  14. Hate to throw a monkey wrench into this, but that 36440 sure looks a whole lot darker than what I see in my cruise books and personal photos.....just saying. Lightening that up 5% or more wouldn't be such a bad idea. My Bonafides.......U.S.N. 1966-1970. AMS 3 & 2, three cruises to WesPac, A-4E's & F's VA-155 and VA-212. Everybody in Airframes had to turn-to when corrosion control was required.
  15. Been to the Tuskegee Airman web site? I've been to the Tuskegee Museum and what photos I've seen, the T-6's were rather bland...no official colors, just standard Air Corps markings and a flat black anti-glare panel.
  16. I kinda miss the ole flame wars. Face it, the Meteor/Klaus debacle was kinda fun.......you know, the "stealing my joy" episode was almost Pythonic.
  17. My Ta-152 arrived yesterday, with an excellent seated pilot figure. Got the notice today that the 1/32nd Kittenkraftrad (you know, the tracked motorcycle thingy) has been shipped.
  18. .........and what is wrong with the Tamiya D-9?
  19. I know personally what the power of prayer can accomplish. I'll pray for Rich and his family morning and night and will enlist my church family to do the same.
