  1. Will finish No. 24 later this week, averaging two per month. In reality, some took a couple of months, some too, a few days.
  2. Yes, but where does it go on the airplane?😀
  3. Pretty much. You may want to have references of the aircraft you want to model to choose which alternate parts you need.
  4. PB (besides being my initials) stood for Pope/Bragg. I'm not going to swear that this aircraft ever flew over Vietnam, but the camo and codes are from the time period of the conflict.
  5. Finished today, Zvezda’s C-130E Hercules in SEA camo. The Zvezda kit is really stellar compared with the old Italeri kit. It has a LOT of interior detail that you won’t likely see unless you look straight into the opened cargo ramp. Since I wanted this model to be closed up, interior detail would never be seen. So I saved a LOT of time by not installing any interior behind the cockpit bulkhead. The kit comes with a lot of alternate parts. Nominally a C-130H, there are parts that will represent earlier variants such as a stock C-130E from the Vietnam War - early short sponsons, simp
  6. If I'm not mistaken, the 1/72 scale Hobbycraft Canada/Academy Mk.6 and "F-86E" kits both have the unusual 6-3 slatted wing.
  7. Hasegawa CMV-22B kit. They don't show that you can swing the wing in the instructions, but if you clip off the smaller pin in the wing, it can swivel on the larger pin. The nacelles are moveable in the kit. But the blades had to be replaced by the Black Dog resin set. Now it's ready for markings. I like that Mount Fuji one.
  8. I left BuNos and nose numbers off my model while I wait for colorful aftermarket markings to come along. (Fingers sequentially drumming on workbench.)
  9. Ooh! I gotta get me one of those 1/72 scale Thud sheets. I want to improve on the markings for this one:
  10. There have been recent directives to eliminate unit or base badges/stripes on many U.S. transports. So better get used to "relentless gray."🤬
  11. Who's "we"? This thread is called "Possible New Topics?", right? Steve, why don't you start a "Waiting on . . . " thread for complainers, and leave the "wishin' and hopin'" customers here to plan for the future.🙂
  12. Though fairly rare and perhaps difficult to assemble for some, the PJ Productions resin kit is outstanding. I built mine more than 15 years ago, seen here with Superscale decals. From what I've seen in on-line photos, the Special Hobby kit looks pretty nice.
  13. That's what I thought would happen to the "new" C-130 from Zvezda before it came out. But sure enough, it came in well under $100 and had lots of interior detail. We shall see. But if they go full bore on the interior and open ramp, and other details on the C-17, that will surely push it close to $200 – or more.
  14. Trumpeter has a 1/32 scale F-35C.
  15. Xtradecal has done a 1/72 scale sheet for the F-35C for some of the eval and earliest units: https://www.hannants.co.uk/product/X72339?result-token=AMTR2
  16. I think it has been pencilled in for several years. I think the wisest path is to provide a simple interior - basic cargo deck and flight deck - and get the price under $100. Leave all the super detailing and interior stuff for the aftermarket. Not everyone needs a lot of interior detail that can't be seen when the model is finished. Or provide all that extra detail in a "sold separately" kit for the folks who enjoy it.
  17. Here's a link to Click2detail B-52H engines: https://www.click2detail.net/store/p65/1%3A72_B-52H_TF33_Engine_Set.html Click2detail and Titan Models are within the same company. I recently built their 1/72 scale C-32A "Air Force Two" kit
  18. I'm still waiting patiently, too. Last year, Kinetic posted a picture of the box-art painting, and I think they indicated that it would be out in early 2023. But nope. They've been saying it's coming for about five or six years now. I wish they would just take my money.😕
  19. I'm hoping the RF-8 will be a good one. Sword gets away with using modified existing kits for their masters (P-47N for example was based on the Tamiya P-47D), so I hope they start with an Academy F-8 and correctly modify it. But I'm told that their F9F-8P photo Cougar wasn't so good, but I built two of their TF-9J Cougar trainers and they were OK. Time will tell.
  20. I built two! I gave away the old I.D. Models vac kit and replaced it with the resin Anigrand Giant Castings kit. I still have that one. Or perhaps it has me?
