  1. Fantastic shots, nice to have a window office! I'm guessing the clarity is very good because you're very close and high up, so you don't have polution, humidity and heat waves that would be present in a ground shot. When it comes to cleaning the sensor, I use the Eclipse PEC pads. You can get them with some cleaning fluid for about $16 CDN. If you get the next kit up, it just comes with some sticks wrapped in the same pad material and it's ridiculously expensive. Save yourself the extra money and improvise a stick with some smoothed sprue, or a coffee stir stick. Note, I find I often hav
  2. Ahem! WB® (the REAL WB, who incidentally did not post the above)

  4. Kinda hard to see the sharkskin pattern in the small photo. But I'm pretty sure the helo is an A-Star derivative. WB
  5. Hey, I'm still trying to carry all the camera gear into the house! Don't get the wrong idea folks, I don't have much gear I just have wimpy arms... WB
  6. Great job on the Bone arrival pic, very nice especially given the terrible weather. I've got a couple thousand pic's to sort as well. You'll have to share what you're driving next year and we can try to meet... WB
  7. Well, I didn't do so good the first two days! I was ten minutes late Friday, 30 minutes late Saturday. I hoped to arrive to find a wild ARC bash going on, but it wasn't to be. Today I showed on time, but again there was nobody there. However, I met up with Barney and his Alley Cat. He's a great guy and that litte Cat is in pristine condition - obviously well cared for. I also got to see him depart and will post a couple pic's later.... Good meeting you Barney and hearing some of the great stories you've accrued. We have to do it again soon! WB
  8. I can't believe nobody has stooped low enough to shred the CFIG acronym.... WB (Sorry Karl, I owe you another 30 seconds for that one)
  9. Uh, okay. You just got nominated to head the ARC cheerleading squad. WB
  10. No kidding. They were pretty cool when they came in to land. They didn't do any fun stuff though like many of the acts... WB
  11. It's Thursday morning in rainy Abbotsford, I'm sitting in Mickey-D's eating a disgusting breakfast, and an Aurora just flew over - life is good! So I'll propose that ARC'ers meet each day at the mobile radar ground target that Steve B tells me makes an appearance at every Abbotsford Airshow. 1 PM was the time in previous years, and even though the air displays are on, it makes sense since some folks come all the way from the Island. I'm here for every day of the airshow - hope to see some of you each day. I'll wear my Maple Flag ball cap since I've been too disorganized to get and ARC
  12. So much sad news... Bill
  13. Hey Rusty, I guess that means no more flying under bridges for giggles.... WB
  14. I'm just guessing, but perhaps the LE's/flaps sag as hydraulic pressures bleeds off? That would explain why some a/c's surfaces are in different positions... WB
  15. WestJet is putting them on all their 737's at some point. They claim the winglets save 4% more fuel - pretty amazing when you consider how much they burn per hour... WB
  16. What an amazing career, 3 DFC's and other medals. Many happy landings sir. WB
  17. I don't know if it's still true, but it used to be that in some forces every officer was called sir, there was no ma'am. Didn't matter what parts they had... Times are probably changing though and I'm ticked at myself for not knowing the current rules! WB
  18. It's very interesting and I hope they're successful. It would just be "nice" to put Earhart and Noonan to rest somewhere... WB
  19. Very cool! I'm surprised though that with all the technology that goes into these things, nobody cleaned the chase plane's camera sensor! WB
  20. Glad to hear the pilot got out! I hope he's back in the saddle soon. WB
