Hello there! I'm back with another subject that hopefully will up my number of finished builds this year. For a while now I've been thinking about building some F-104's. So I got myself three different kits - Italeri F-104G, Academy (Revell) F-104C and Hasegawa F-104j/CF-104. I've built two Italeri F-104c's and while the first one was a mess the second one was pretty nice. Sadly it was destroyed a while ago. I've heard a lot of good things about Hasegawa and Revell F-104's. The Italeri kit seems to get generally good opinions too. The two latter kits h

Been waiting a little while to post this, but since the first full part is now out I feel comfortable posting this. So this is the first part in a series of videos I am doing on the Stearman that I built for this years contest. I had originally planned to release this monthly following the first full part, which I will post tomorrow, but because of the large time investment of editing all of the footage these will instead be coming out bi-monthly. So look forward to it.

First off, thanks to some of you for the light pushing to post a build thread. I wasn't feeling ready for it, I'm more of a "wait for the thing to be done, and then write about it" kind of guy but here we go! A brief background - I've always been somewhat removed from the space program. Never really paid much attention to it (one of those 'it's so routine that it's not exciting' things), saw some launches in elementary school in the early 90s, I remember being in 4th or 5th grade when John Glenn went into space. Moved to Florida (from New Jersey) in 2001, and continued to not pay a

Hello people! This is my first post here, I will be building the infamous 1/32 Revell UH-1D Gunship with the Dominican republic air force paint scheme and configuration, I'll be building the UH-1H FAD 3032, I want to try to do the best I can to get this kit up to today's standards.

Hi all, here is my 1/72 Revell BONE build in progress. I have done some scratch building on Main Wheel Bay and the Bomb Bays. Started this project a month ago and I hope I can finish it some time later... I did away all the raised panel lines and rebuilt them with 0.15 Tamiya panel engraver. Then added rivets to the panel line. Cut out the original bomb bay for scratch built bomb bay Used reference pix and blueprints found on the web as well as Willy Peeters' B-1B book to scratch build bomb bay and main wheel bay.

I really prefer to keep these in CONUS. Paypal preferred (friends and family works best, and if you have money in the paypal or an attached bank account there is no fee for either of us) but USPS MO works too. PM if interested. I really want to avoid EBAY and I'm trying to price these to move, but Ive also been out of the model buying game for sometime (SWMBO, KIDS, life etc) Ebay is getting insane, I prefer to sell them here. I have much much better experiences here on ARC anyway, and its a true blessing. lastly like everything the price of shipping has gone up. I am as unhappy a

Got a big one for you guys this week. We are going to be looking at Revell's MASSIVE HE111P-1 Heinkel kit in 1/32nd scale.

I've been slowly working on the new Revell SR-71 kit. Not because it is a bad kit, just because I am trying to take my time to ensure I don't mess it up given how expensive the kit is. Plus I am trying some things with it that are a little different from standard "out of the box" faire in order to help give some hints to you guys to help potentially improve your building experience. Rather than starting with the fuselage, I decided to start with the engine nacelles. The Squadron SR-71 Walk-Around book by James Goodall provides some nice references for the engine intern

Sticking with Revell and looking at their Me410B-6/R-2 kit in 1/48th scale from their ProModeler line of kits.

Back on 1/32nd scale aircraft again this week. We will be looking at Revell's new, at the time that this video was recorded, P-51D Early Mustang. This is also the second boxing of this kit, which to the best of my knowledge only has a different set of decals from the first boxing.

Hi there, just for your info, over the past few weeks I have released a couple of resin sets for the Revell SR-71 and a couple more are in the works. Available now: SR-1 ejection seats, both as a "standard" set comprising the seats and 3D printed ejection handles (printed from slightly flexible resin) and a "deluxe" set which adds ejeciton rails (3D printed) and canopy jacks to the package. All parts are designed to fit the Revell kit specifically, and even though some plastic needs to be removed it is kept to a minimum. https://www.hypersonicmodels.com/pr

Something a little different and not quite out of the box. I took Revell's (Monogram?) A-6E, Steel Beach KA-6D conversion, Quinta KA-6D 3D decals for the cockpit and AOA Decals to create a KA-6D Intruder. The Steel Beach kit was designed for the Kinetic kit but it worked fine with the Revell kit. I used AOA Decals 48-006 to model a KA-6D from VA-196 Main Battery from the 1972-73 time period. Hope you like it. Thanks for looking Geoff M

Posting another one I did very early in 2021 as one of my Covid lockdown builds. This is the 2006 Revell issue of the Monogram 1/72 X-15A-2, done up as the aircraft appeared for its last flight when Pete Knight set a speed record with it. The aircraft was covered with an ablative heat shield coating. It was pink in color, tended to come off in slivers and had an annoying habit of getting saturated with LOX, which could have "explosive" results. So the coating was covered in a flat white binder layer. The plane itself was a rebuild of X-15 ship #2, which was rebuilt following a bad crash on Mud

With the release of the new Revell 1/48 SR-71A kit in Europe in December and it being due in the states soon, I went to the SAC Museum in Ashland NE and shot some pictures of the aircraft we have on display, 61-7964. The aircraft has also been referred to as the Bododian (or Bodonian depending on reference) Express as it limped into Norway after an engine out condition in 1983. It is one of two Blackbirds displayed in this unique fashion on stilts in a sun-lit atrium. The engines and landing gear are removed and one engine is on display in another part of the museum with the one of the main ge

Hello All! I have been watching this model for a couple weeks and decided to try it, this will be about my 10th aircraft since I decided to get back into building models, now granted when I was building as a child there wasn't any after market parts, (At least none I knew off) and I didn't try to modify the build either. Lucky enough for me there are several builds on line that are amazing and shows pretty much what to do to customize this airplane, I made it through the cockpit, then saw pictures of the radar and landing gear bays and see I have some work to do still, this is also my

This build started with good intentions but things started to go south but I pressed on. Vallejo Air paint and Eurodecals. Great detail in some areas, crap in others. Thank you for having a look. Craig

Good day fellow modellers, I took a break from my CF188 Production Build to complete this quick build for my LCol who will be leaving the office soon, heading back to Canada on his next adventure. I will put it away for a couple days, and then take it our just before the presentation and see if I need to change anything. Enjoy. Cheers AFM

Hi guys! I'd say a good 99.99% of my builds are aircraft kits. Now I'm building the Revell Titanic for my 13 year old daughter. It's the venerable 1/570 scale kit. So here's my question: What would be the best way to paint the deck tan horizontal surfaces such as the deck in relation to the white vertical surfaces such as the walls of the ship? Do you airbrush one color, do some serious masking, then airbrush the other color? The decks and structures are all molded as one as opposed to being separate entities. As you can tell, I am definitely not a ship builder! I need help
