What if Schemes

Recommended Posts

Here's a list of the RCAF codes that have been used. I've ** the types of "What if" I've been playing with for an alternate timeline.

CF-100 Canuck

CT-155 Hawk

CT-156 Harvard 2

CU-161 Sperwer

CU-170 Heron

CC-177 Globemaster 3

CF-188 Hornet / Super Hornet

102 was probably skipped not to confuse with the Avro C.102 Jetliner, and 103 so as not to confuse with the proposed CF-103 swept-wing Canuck. The CF-104 was originally designated CF-111.

There are a few Real World ones you've missed:

CP-122 Neptune

CH-125 Piasecki H-21A

CH-126 Sikorsky H-34

CH-127 Piasecki H-21B

CX-131 Dynavert (remind your friendly neighbourhood USMC Osprey pilot who did it first! ;) )

CC-141 Starlifter (designation was set aside but never used - there's a whiffy build!)

CH-143 Kawasaki BK-117 (single unit tested in 1985)

CT-145 Super King Air

CU-160 IAI Eagle

CU-162 Vindicator

CU-163 MQ-9 Reaper

CU-167 Silver Fox

CU-168 Elbit Skylark

CH-178 Mi-17V-5

Damn it Richard!

Stop drawing more Scooters 'what-ifs' and start making some decals so I can build a few before I go bonkers!

Now the TA-4K's!

E/F-18H (SH with an E-2 screw top!) They are taking over everything else on the deck, so why not? I'm in a retarded mood today! Actually I'd love to see a Super Tomcat 21! (Im sure someone's had to have done this by now.)

I have an idea for a Buccaneer as well. I picked up the airfix kit, took a good look at the fuselage lines and it struck me that a white and black scheme would look great. Basically a Killer Whale. Comments? Laughter?

Now 5 years later - do it.

Think this thread goes to show that a good airplane will look good no matter how it's dressed.

Doesm any one know where I can get Georgia ang decals for the f-15 in 1/48th scale.

Which markings? the origina; full color tail markings? The Lo-vis version or the later Mod-Eagle scheme with GA tail codes?

There is/was a boxing of the 1/48 Hasegawa F-15 that included GA ANG decals as well as an old Italeri offering that included it, but the Italeri kit is horrible and the GEORGIA on one of the tails is angled in the wrong direction. I don't know if there were any aftermarket offerings, especially since they switched to B-1Bs in 1996

I've got a Hasegawa F-16A with the extended tail that I've been looking for an interesting scheme to finish it in. I think my search is over.

Caracal is getting into the ANG Eagle biz, maybe cast a vote for some GA ANG love?

MOAR VIPERZ!!!

WhIf...Older USAF F-16C Block 30/32s, instead of being sold overseas, are picked up by the USN for their Adversary fleet. I picked VFC-111 so I could throw a colorful tail onto these, I'll do a full-tail boss bird next...

Nothing wrong with that second one ... might actually be my favorite of both groups. I've got a few Has F-16s in work to be aggressors so may have to try one or two of these schemes.

Oh, liked all of your first group, too!

Is there a special program that you use for these illustrations? It is sure interesting and I would love to experiment with it some.

I'm using Photoshop. The methods I use are similar to what FAR148 has in his link.

Hey Grant, good to see you're alive and kicking ! ;)

Those are some cool Sundowner Vipers to boot ...

Thanks for sharing them ...

Thanks, glad you liked 'em
