CW4 Erick Swanberg
Pete, you know how to make us "HELO" pilots envious thats just not right. :o Yeah its hard flying my helo up at FL 001 haha. Nice view hopefully in about 3 years after I retire from the Army I will start my airline career. Most of the Marine AH-1W guys here that escort us are from ATL and fly for ASA and they have offered to help me get my resume' and application together so when I get back to the states I am going to get my multi-rating from a good academy type 141 school. Thank goodness for VA and GI Bill benefits. Talk at you later Erick

Pete "Pig" Fleischmann
I'm dual-qualled with the MD-88 and MD-90... One day of differences training, one day of fleet common, (ACT, ops specs, etc) and 3 days of sims.Chris Hey Chris, Do your 757/767 pilots do that as well?

Chris Kethan
I'm dual-qualled with the MD-88 and MD-90... One day of differences training, one day of fleet common, (ACT, ops specs, etc) and 3 days of sims.Chris Hey Chris, Do your 757/767 pilots do that as well? Pig, I'm not sure.... I would expect they do, because the differences in all the different models of 767 and the 757 that we fly are alot more than the small differences in the 88 & 90. I can ask a 767 buddy and get back to you. Chris
BlackCat
Hey, Have you heard about the new aircraft that airbus is making? It's the one with the new crew setup... It consists of one pilot and one dog. The pilot is there to watch the airplane, and the dog is there to bite the pilot if he touches anything! But seriously... Remember the weight limit on those pop-out trays... don't put a flight attendant on it who weighs more than 90 pounds! Har har! Sorry, I used to be a mechanic on the Air-Rust. Or is it the Scare-Bus? It's the only bird with more computers than rivets. Have fun! Charles ;)

GEH737
I'm pretty sure I work for the same airline Chris does, and we get checked out in the 757, 767-200, 767-300 and 767-300ER. It's a common type rating and in some categories, you can find yourself in any one of them. I only bid for trans-atlantic stuff, so it's always the 767-300ER for me, but if I wanted to go to Central or South America, a lot of those flights use the 757. Just scroung it from the seat back pockets or garbage cans...like the rest of us! Pig Our pilots appropriate them from the leftovers once the passengers have had their choice.I'll never forget the first time I walked on to the flightdeck midflight and found the flight crew arguing over 17 across in the Daily Telegraph crossword. David Walker
I was in ORD one morning and I stopped at one of the kiosks to buy a newspaper. (yes, I'm an airline pilot, but I buy newspapers) There was a tap on my shoulder and I turned to see an older captain who said to me, "You know, you're embarrassing all of us." I'm still not sure if he was kidding or not.
Chris Kethan
I've met some Captains that would have said that and weren't kidding.. It's embarrassing how cheap some airline pilots are. That reminds me of a joke. Question: "Do you know how they make Copper wire?" Answer: Two airline captains fighting over a penny. Chris
FrankC
Pete, I think I read on acid.org that the airbus is more maneuverable than the eagle, and has a higher climb rate - care to comment?

skidbuggy
Do pilots actually use those big ole watches??? That reminds me of a joke.... A woman calls the police to report a naked pilot was in her driveway stealing her newspaper. The officer asks, "How do you know he's a pilot? Maam." She responds, "He's wearing a big watch and he has a little *****."

Karl Sander
hey boys, just got back from a 4-day trip. I took my camrea on this one because I finally got to fly with a long time bud and all-around good guy, R.M. McCall. Here we are somewhere between SEA and ORD.. Thats me in the right seat Pig Pig- Just missed you then, I had two trips through SEA in the space of 4 days - returned from Mountain Home on the 10th, then flying out for Reno and househunting on the early morning of the 14th.... For someone who lives three counties away I spend WAY too much time at that airport....
