And a couple more. They're not the greatest.

The LY coded aircraft was from VP-92. It used to be stationed at NAS South Weymouth, MA. I used to see them flying overhead all the time (along with Marine helos, A-4's, C-130's etc). BRAC shut down the base a few years ago, they got moved to NAS Brunswick, ME. BRAC finally caught up with them for good this year. VP-92 is now defunct as is the entire base.

20 years ago we had Ft. Devens, NAS SoWey, the 101st FS F-15's at Otis ANGB. All gone. Not much to look at if you live in Eastern Mass these days. Pretty sad driving through the base and seeing the empty hangars and flight line. Just doesn't sound right without some jet noise in the background.

Here are a couple of P-3s parked out behind the Naval Aviation Museum in Pensocola. I took these in August 2004, just a couple of weeks before Hurricane IVAN hit the Museum and damaged several of the planes outside. Don M.

I miss the Orions' flying above here at NAS JRB Willow Grove. As a kid I used to watch them fly over all the time. *fairly* recently We lost VP-64 and 66 here at W/G. Every once in a while we're lucky enough to see a transient! Just for Gee whiz... if anyone is building the Hasegawa kit, I will be happy to take some detail photos of our static display bird on the far side of the base! (I know the kit has some rather 'abstract' wheel wells - having built a few copies of that kit!

A P-3 with a difference. I photographed this WP-3D from NOAA at an air show here in Jacksonville Fla. in 11/99. This P-3 was nicknamed " Miss Piggy" and had her picture on the side just below Dept of Commerce. I am sorry for the quailty for they were scanned in for prints.

Hi,

Only one airframe from me, but a LPRS fitted P-3C that came into Mildenhall on saturday the 14th April last year for a quick refuel and go. I think that was the first time that one configured like that had been publicly photographed outside the US as they were apparently rather shy. Ironically a couple more followed within a few weeks.

P-3C's at twilight. A couple of VP-30, aircraft doing touch and goes on a cloudless evening over my house a few days ago. One of them by chance in the aircraft on the ground at the beginning of this thread.

Harry, thanks for posting those pics of 010, it's great to see her again! That airframe has a special meaning for my family...

I've seen her several times on her visits to Norway, most specifically to Bodoe.

Also sligthly weird that they have the "Province of Newfoundland" flag, and NOT the Canadian one...

I'm not sure, but I think I also spy the Hawaiian flag there too. Perhaps NOAA didn't get the memo about that whole "statehood" thingie. :)

Funny, the young man in front of 010 kinda looks like you Mike, with hair.... Kidding aside, I assume thats your bros. first

P-3?

Jeff

Yep, his first P-3...evah. I'm glad I shaved my head, feels much better this way. Besides, when the hair starts to go, you gotta just let it go.

It has the added benefit of scaring strangers.
