Hey Matt, Here are the ones that I used. Started off purchasing 1/48 scale rivets but the 1/72 scale sheet Worked perfect for staving with the rivets that were on the tail booms

Hey Matt, the automotive tape that I use is from 3M You can buy it in different colors and I’ve used it for intake covers as well!

Hi Arnaud, It will be armed with 12 AMRAAM’s!

Thanks Guys!

Finally got some primer on this beast so I can check my work……then it’s on to paint shop for some MOD Eagle paint! I’m also starting to put together the 12 AIM-120’s

Gentlemen, thank you so much for your help! I really appreciate it!

I just retired and as a treat to myself I bought a new airbrush! I’ve been using a Badger 150 that I bought 40 years ago! I bought an Iwata HP-CS and I have a cleaning question…..can you use lacquer thinner to clean it without doing any damage? I don’t know if this brush has any internal seals that might be compromised by using lacquer thinners, but my paint of choice is MRP Acrylic Lacquer! Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks Kursad, do you know which FS colors are used for the paint on the F-15 STOL/MTD, specifically the red and blue colors? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Kursad, do you happen to know what FS colors of red and Blue are on the F-15 STOL/MTD aircraft? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Sounds like 2024!

Nothing they have been able to share so far!

That was the plan…….but my contacts at Kingsley haven’t received any tail number information yet, so I may build another EX so I can get it 100% right. Sounds like Caracal is talking about doing a sheet for line jets for both the 173d and 142d from Oregon! So my back up is to do one of the test jets!

Well, after adding all of the resin that is going to be in this build, I thought it might be prudent to beef up the landing gear, so I ordered the Up Wind set for the F-15E/I/K/S for the GWH kit! Very impressed with the quality of these legs, not at all like the SAC stuff. Because this model will be on the ground, the one thing that is missing is a boarding ladder so I went with the Plus Model ladder, again it’s an excellent replication of a F-15 boarding ladder! Lastly, this bird will be loaded for Air-to-Air with a total of 12 AIM-120C’s. That’s it for now….trying to get some primer

Thanks Aaron! I felt the same way, and then I found the BAM conversion! It’s been a fun project so far……it’s going to be a missile truck for sure! 12 AIM-120’s for sure and maybe more!

Thank you Sir!

After priming I realized that some of the raised rivet detail was sanded on the MAWS booms, so pulled out some Archer transfers and fixed the problem. I also noticed that I did the same thing on the Phase Hanger drop tanks, so fixed that as well!
-
The BAM Models stuff is excellent! I just ordered a couple sets of the F-15 PASS mod sets. The pylon set, drop tank set and the gun faring sets from Phase Hanger will enhance any F-15 model that you do…..both highly recommended!
-
No Worries Mr. Happy, I should have some pictures of Phase Hangers F-15 drop tanks up soon…..and they are as good as the pylon set and the no seam gun faring!
-
Worked on some of the Phase Hanger parts that I’m using for this build…..first is the seamless gun fairing. It’s one piece and so you don’t have to try to sand that hard to get to seam. I will also be using Phase Hanger pylons for both wings and center pylon that will have a Sniper Pod mounted. All of these parts are excellent! And I will be using Phase Hangers external tanks!
-
Thank you both! Hope to have some paint on the bird soon!
-
Also have the new tail booms attached. The inside of the BAM Model booms have raised rivet detail like the real thing, unfortunately some of it was remove during sanding. So I will be replacing that with some Archer rivet decals

Cockpit is all buttoned up and ready to be attached to the fuselage.

The position lights on the leading edge on the wings and on the wing tips are clear, and not the usual red and green on the EX. So I cut away the plastic and used clear resin plugs to start to form the lights. After I got them sanded to fit, I’ll do some polishing!
-
Some progress made on the EX! The pit is in and finally close up! I decided to use a pair of Aries resin seats to replace the kit seats, because the GWH seats are, in my opinion are over sized. Because the Aries seats don’t have belts, I chose to use 3D printed belts from a Quinta set for the F-15, that way I was able to make sure that the belt placements were not the same front to back. One other thing I tackled were the rear slime light placement. On the EX they are different than the E. I used automotive tape for the frames after measuring the lights that are in the Caracal EX decal s
